Automated factories make this difficulty setting much more manageable. Not sure this colony would have survived if they weren't enabled.

Yes please. They could provide happiness to the colony, maybe a passive learning benefit, or can fulfill some of the different entertainment needs without the resource cost. It's one of the reasons these playthroughs get dull for me is that they just do the same thing over and over again. You want an actually "hard" game, don't actively murder your colonists.

That'd just be unrealistic. Old farts don't bring comfort. However there should be a massive sanity and comfort hit for lost lives even in other domes exception for them dying of old age.

Imo giving them something like decrease in productivity & being unable to work outside the dome or work only in some sectors.With a chance do die in accident depending on the facility or trigger some other events good or bad ones. for now most of them don't provide anything except genius, saint , empath & celebrity :/ & those are rare.

That does make sense since that is how Human society evolved anyways. Grandparents allowed parents to explore and gather more resources, and shared the teaching and rearing burden. Having seniors be a low production, large bonus effect population makes a lot of sense.

Seniors is why I absolutely love Service Bots, it means I can stuff a ton of Elderly in retirement homes, staff the few jobs that still require people with Teens who age out and move into the larger domes, keeping the Elders safe, happy and far better off than Bangle Fields.

Also that Breakthrough tech, Global Support could be incredibly good. Assuming you get the advanced Sterling Generators that provide heat when opened it can help trivialize Cold Snaps. If not Solar RC Commanders are really good, free power little maintenance. And you can stock up on a ton just to have mobile power to far off sections and buildings.

Hi, I love this series! I’ve got two ideas for you: 1) On the bottom bar, there is a „command centre” where you can view statistics for every colonists, including negative traits. 2) Why don’t you use rc transport for gathering metals from the surface? Depending on how much micro you can handle, there are three ways: - research „rover AI” to unlock auto mode for rc transport - on sectors view, look for metal deposit rich sectors and order transport to gather them - for clusters of metals, you can send rc commander, and build a storage there. Drones will automatically gather the resources, and then set up transport route with the transporter

the thing with the vistas is why one of my favorite breakthrough techs in the game is the one that the terraformer leader starts with, which just makes it so areas you're growing plants can randomly form new vistas and research sites usually if/when i get that i rush terraforming even harder, which typically i push for terraforming pretty early on regardless for its base mechanical benefits

Funny thing about frostpunk? Easiest setting can be the hardest. Because progress faster than tech can be researched so when storm comes, even though storm is easier, it is much harder because lack tech and supplies. One has to consciously go as slow as possible.

Prav you have the UCP which means you have access to automated resource extractors theyre not as efficient as the big ones but they work 24/7 so no need to set up a dome just the shuttles so it brings mats back home

Get the gacha breakthrough tech :P damn so many possibilities to gain from the random rover & there is one that mine resources in deposits & fev other were also nice like generator or scanner one for finding those research anomalies on map faster :) not to mention RANDOM special building... like automated metal extractor, metal plant or stirling generator. So many possibilities. ___ Whatever you will get it will still be on + side imo worth at least a try[I would probably que it like 3x at least]. Also getting one more transport rover would probably be good to gather things on surface more efficient i always went for at least 2 when I played this game last time. But probably after like 3 gacha rolls from tech as you could get some multipurpose rover from it. Damn that is one ultra good tech to find :P ____ Hmm also would rather build a separate dome for those schools. They're living in 2 vista dome & are a bit to young to provide benefits... in birth rate. You should make a 3rd dome close with that school spire when you will get more stable with metals & other things & if you get lucky then maybe some genius will be born :) for extra research per sol & be respectful of them watch out to not send those geniuses when they got old to Bengal field... they should still provide 150 research each sol. That is one of thing that saved some old farts in my old colonies :D Also don't overlook : saints, empaths & celebrity... just disable those for that special dome.
