Prawning season already??

G'day Legends, This week Merv and I snuck out for looking for some early season prawns, the first few casts weren't very productive, but it didn't take long before we started filling up our bucket with good sized banana prawns. The trip turns out to be well and truly worth the effort as I'm sure you will see!

Mix chicken feed with raw molasses... make tennis ball sizes n just droptjem in spots... leave it for a few mins n then throw your net, shrimps go crazy for that

Try frangipani sap for marine stings, works good but you won't find it down the creek so you should take a piece of it with you prawning.

@@FishingWithFraser56 yeah we have they same here in our season, not uncommon to get 20 litres in 15 to 20 mins or less, but that video was at the end of Winter, when there are no prawns around, and as we went on the last of the prawn Run, we only managed 13 litres I think Sammy said, don't think I even threw a Net that time, the week before people including myself were getting 10 litres in some throws.

I was out rock fishing one day and had the unfortunate luck to stab my thumb on a happy moment ( spinefoots or rabbitfishes) , boy they named them either right ( as you're looking for a happier time) or wrong as in the life won't be happy for a while . As i was standing there cursing the fishing gods for making such a evil fish an old fisherman came up to me and inquired what was wrong , i told him and he told me to catch another one. Too which i replied wtf for the last one got me in this mess ,he told me to get another so i did and he then told me to get it's eyeball whole out of it's head , poke a hole in it and squeeze the clear liquid into the wound from the happy moment , would you believe it was like a switch was thrown the throbbing stop almost immediately, it was a god send , so i try to pass on this knowledge to any fisherpeople i meet while fishing.

The banana prawns we get in the Burnett are about an average size of 200mm makes yours look small haha but they are a lot more spread out
