Tried this recipe today. Before adding the prawns I added potato cubes cut from 1 whole potato. Cooked potatoes until semi-cooked before adding prawns. Thank you for this yummylicious recipe! Whole family loves it to serve on Basmati rice and naan!

Thank you so much for the great step-by-step presentation. I love many ethnic kinds of curries but the rest of the house doesn't like coconut as you know has been quite a trend of late. Being high in saturated fat I shy away from coconut oil and use coconut milk seldom. Garam Masala curries are then great for everyone here but have never tried with shrimp only chicken. It looks delicious and will try your recipe soon. Thank you again. Ciao 4 Now.

I cooked down / fried the paste much longer, because after a few minutes it still had a very pungent and sharp smell. I've used a little more tomato by accident, they weren't really sweet so I adjusted by adding some palm sugar in the end. Also I've put in a little bit of fish sauce, hinge (part of the paste at the start) and a little bit of coconut milk at the end. It's no 1 to 1 of the recipe, but it turned out pretty good. I didn't measure anything, just followed the instructions on the paste frying, spice mix and order on how to cook the dish. Thanks for the recipe!

Leaving the prawns in lemon juice for 20 minutes is going to start cooking them which will change the texture quite a lot. It might be a good idea for a curry but not something we do in restaurants.

I just made this today; so GOOD! 🤤 I fried 1 pork belly, chopped it, tossed it in the sauce. I added about 8 red Thai chili peppers, 1 cup of Tikka Masala Curry, and 1 cup of butter chicken simmer sauce, let it simmer on low heat for an hour before I added the prawns. Thanks for the recipe; I love curry.

Turntable chopping board + a really sharp knife? Can you see where I am going with this?
@TheCarneiroid4 жыл бұрын
Nice recipe, although the marination is overkill. The lime juice is curing the seafood unnecessarily..like in a ceviche , and then all that salt is going to draw out a whole bunch of moisture, again unnecessarily.

Is there much of a difference in flavour when making the paste with cooked or raw ingredients? Other recipes I have seen sometimes cook the ingredients then blend , so I am a little bit confused.
@want.to.b3.gamer6703 жыл бұрын
I read a comment on another video saying that some spicies are fat soluble(i believe that's the right word) meaning that more flavor is extracted with toasting in oil. Sometimes a light dry roast will bring a smokey flavor.
