Praxeus was pretty scary I’m gonna be honest. Some of the new villains like Tim Shaw and the Pting aren't exactly inspiring fear, but the praxeus disease was kinda scary in the way it effects people. It really takes advantage of the upped budget and was one of the better episodes of season 12.

The Doctor has become the fucking obvious narrator, explaining things that the audience has just seen on screen, because apparently we can't be trusted to understand the 'complex' scripts. But even worse, the Doctor is supposed to be the cleverest person on any given planet; she should be several steps ahead of everyone, including the audience (most of the time), but this Doctor feels like she's always lagging two steps behind: Dr: "Oh I get it now, you see... [explains the really easy 'mystery' she's finally solved]" / Us: "Uh huh, we all worked that out 10 minutes ago."
@ftumschk3 жыл бұрын
@@James-gc5if "...explaining things that the audience has just seen on screen, because apparently we can't be trusted to understand the 'complex' scripts" More likely, it saves the writers from writing any extra dialogue or action. "A" happens, so the Doctor and/or Companions take time describing and discussing "A", which means the writers don't have to come up with "B", "C" and "D", saving themselves effort. In short, all this expositional stuff is mostly "padding" and lazy writing.
@DoctorWhoHugh3 жыл бұрын
And yet how else do you get it explained? The show has exposition, they even referenced it in World enough and Time
@ftumschk3 жыл бұрын
@@DoctorWhoHugh RTD and Moffat were able to weave their exposition into the script, either through brief snatches of dialogue or actually showing things happening on screen. Chibnall rarely does the latter, but tends to have the cast (usually the Doctor) telling us what happens in long, expository monologues.
