May God reward you for this brother. I find it deeply concerning that this is a (relatively) novel take among both Muslims and non-Muslims at the moment. Everything you say is true and should be obvious - both morally and Qur'anically - and yet precious few people are saying it. We need to reject black-and-white, tribal thinking and always go back to the Qur'an's clear guidance. I couldn't commend you more brother, and God willing more people will view and appreciate this sermon. Peace be upon you!

It sounds like you have improved your Tajweed , well done man. Were you and Khalil not meant to do a response to Danil and Jake on PDB valuentainment religious roundtable ?

Brother, do you see my comment?
@DrJavadTHashmi6 ай бұрын
Thank you for the comment. In truth, I have not been working on my tajwīd. It's just that I read Arabic much better than I recite from memory (especially if it's from childhood). I know I'm still not winning any awards with pronunciation. And certainly not for memorization. Actually, I have some memory issues... Yes, we were supposed to do a response to the PBD podcast, but alas, academics always get backed up and fall through. :(

Salam alaikom brother Hashemi. It is not good that you don't have any communication with your subscribers.

Itd be cool if you could do more videos. Maybe adressing certain hypothesis such as the sacred house being in Jerusalem instead of Mecca or that it was in petra..

Do you think the system or God uses manipulation to organize people and lower entropy in order to grow? A blatant example of this would be the Surah entitled "Jinn". We know that no such creature exist, yet God uses them as an example as they were a reality in the consciousness of the people of that time. Would be interested to hear your thoughts.

It’s the tradition that believes jinn’s a specie. Nothing in the Quran suggests they’re different species to humans.

I would not use the word "manipulation," but I agree with your general idea that the Quran expresses itself in the scientific worldview of its time, adjusting things primarily only for purposes of theological, religious, spiritual, or moral advancement.

@@DrJavadTHashmi Hey Dr. Hashmi! Could you make do some work on how the Qur’an could be using non-historical stories and restructuring them for a religious it spiritual purpose? The pseudepigrapha sources and non-canonical and sometimes legendary stories; for example Dhul Qarnayn, Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, Satan not bowing to Adam, Mary and the date palm, Jesus speaking in his infancy, Solomon and the Jinns, Israel and the Mount Sinai lifted above their heads… etc. These originate from pseudepigrapha sources and Jewish legends at times which are play on words in the Hebrew Bible… Sources including but not limited to The Talmud story of Mount Sinai floating in the sky above the Israelite, Solomon and the Valley of Ants a Jewish legendary tale, The Cave of Treasures, The Apocalypse of Moses, The Second Targum of Esther and commentary, The Proto-Gospel of James, The Infancy Gospel of Thomas, Solomon and the Demons legends from Jewish lore, The Sleepers of the Ephesus, the Alexander Romances and legendary tales. I think these stories were in circulation at the time and that’s why the Qur’an mentions it. I think the Qur’an restructures these stories for a spiritual or allegorical purpose. I think the Qur’an has historical events, but also allegories, legends and lore, and figurative use of concepts; it is literary despite having historical elements too. I view characters like Adam and Eve, or even The Satan, to be literary or symbolic; while characters like Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon, Jonah, Jesus, etc. are historical figures, but the stories are more colorful and restructured. Salam!
