As a mother/baby nurse and someone that taught hundreds and hundreds of new moms to nurse I say don’t worry about it! My middle child absolutely refused to breast feed. I forced her for the first 6 weeks but it was causing too much stress for her and me. We were both happier when we switched to bottle.

I hated pumping too! It was awful. My daughter quit nursing before i was ready, and that was hard. My son wanted to nurse forever and i had to force him to quit and that was hard. Whatever happens, just know you are doing your best. And its enough. And also, its ok to be sad about this. You both will be in my prayers.

Don’t stress over it, enjoy the process of bottle feeding, it’s not what you want and bottle feeding isn’t the easiest but its all about making sure he gets all the nutrients and love he can get.

Sorry to hear of your situation. I nursed 4 children and never heard of this. The doctor always told me to drink a beer to relax to produce more milk. He might like the taste afterthefact. I don't know what else to say. Praying for you and baby.

My youngest of eight bit me once also when I was nursing and it does hurt so sorry that happened and that now he is on a strike I never had one of them, but maybe it’s because he’s teething and he doesn’t wanna nurse or have a bottle maybe use one of those shields for over your breast and I don’t know if you’ve ever ever heard of brewers yeast tablets to help you produce more milk are used to take those. Hope maybe the lactation specialist helped you out so that he will nurse again. 🫂🙏

Hannah, my opinion is that he has may his decision to quit. Please donot beat yourself over it. I had planned to nurse my first child he would not latch on to me and I was devastating to a new mom. But he is very healthy person which is now 6'5 and is now going on 54yrs.old. PLEASE DONT BEAT YOURSELF OVER IT BECAUSE GOING TO BE OK!!!!!!! 0:17

You have my sympathy. One of our children went on strike from breastfeeding. I offered him the breast first each time and after almost a month he decided that he would start breastfeeding again and fed until 12-13 months. I admire your perseverance during this trying time. Totally not the same, but my kids refused baby food at 6 months. We worked hard to make sure they got the nutrition the needed as they transitioned to table food. It is great you have a lactation consultant who can support and guide you to make sure Noah get the nutrients he needs. You're a great mom! Hugs!

Sending big squishy hugs. Sending all the positive vibes your way. I understand how you are feeling but my situation was pretty much the opposite. He wanted to feed but I had nothing to give after 9 weeks. I was heartbroken. Instead of thinking that he doesn't want to feed anymore, think of it as you have fed him for 9 months or however long it's been. That's an amazing amount of time! You should be so proud of yourself for that! I really hope this week has been much better for you both. Keeping you in my thoughts.

Sending you prayers. There is a lesson I learned in cognitive behavioral therapy: radical acceptance. That, among many other tools, has helped me accept that there are things I cannot control and that it is my desire for things to be different that causes my suffering. Pain is inevitable. Suffering is not. Deeply understanding this has made my life so much better and improved my relationships with my child and husband.

I will say all babies are different. I have two kids and both were vastly different in regards to nursing. I will say that bottles give them the instant satisfaction, they don’t have to work for that let down. Have you tried getting a let down first and then see if he nurses? Maybe that will encourage him more. I want to give you all of the encouragement and hugs BUT be kind to yourself. I developed PPD trying to force nursing that just wasn’t happening. I hated pumping and it never failed the moment I started both kids started freaking out. It was hard. I cried a lot. I don’t want you to go through that. Try your best, reach out to lactation consultants but ultimately give yourself grace. Also remember that this could just be a phase.

Congested babies do have a problem nursing or bottles. Hard to breath and might make ears pop. Maybe hold back on the bottles and only nurse. Might be self weaning.

I'm not sure if you mentioned it and I missed it,but is Noah possibly teething?..no matter what be kind to yourself, it's very hard work at times to be a parent....this too shall pass.
