Here we are supposedly 2 years after the fact and suddenly (at about 15:00) I suddenly understood the expression, "if you think it, you are already there." I am so grateful for these lectures on KZbin so we can reap the benefits even if we cannot be present at the original lecture. Not only that this illustrates the fact of no time or space. I am there because I am there!

Excellent message for those of us over the age of 55 (especially). Just remember, a Birthday Card only shows love from the sender, it doesn't represent an age. I don't have to become who I already am... a perfect child of God. spiritual, eternal. "Thoughts of the world are like static on an old radio." I can tune it out. Thanks, Mark!

This really gets me to thinking! I see how most religions get people out of here by conditioning parishioner's to give up, give in and to let go of their looks, vitality and youthful activities! After finding many person on YT who are still active, dancing, skating, dating and blooming into life at ages most consider impossible! Why die until you do? Why did Jesus promise that some of those listening to him would never die if it were impossible? I believe him!
@mmzddx963 жыл бұрын
Amen! I too believe! I would say, then, that the gifts of athletics and dance, music, etc. actually originate with God and therefore cannot be contingent on, or in subjection to, the matter-body, or the concept of age. I have heard it said, "Age is only a number." Well, no question about it! After seeing videos of a ballet dancer who still performed into her more advanced years, and a figure skater of the same, and the joy these athletes took in continuing to let their light shine as they had always been doing, I am more firmly convinced than ever of the truth -- that God's children are not to be considered as perishables with expiration dates.

I thank you a million times over, Mr. Swinney! I, Marjorie, am humbly honored to confess that I am on the path to spiritual rebirth -- taking it one step at a time, steadily and gently upward. It can be at times so easy to get wrapped up in the imperfections that, as Mrs. Eddy says, "the world is holding before your gaze continually" -- and thus lose sight of your journey and end up careening off into the wrong route like a car slipping, skating, and sliding in an oil spill. This has at times happened to me -- better it is to be honest and open, unmask and correct error, and receive gentle rebukes and chastening, than to be guilty and Pharisaical. Like the Prodigal Son, I am coming to my senses and realizing the emptiness of trying to get blood from a turnip in terms of expecting human will to supply a void that needs filling. The tribulations that follow as a result turn me back toward Divine Love, like a tired child seeks its mother's arms for rest. And it is there and everywhere that I find the love of our Father-Mother God to be very sweet and precious; it's what has motivated me to really reap, as never before, the benefits of being once more as a little child. Any wise words you have to offer me, I am willing to listen and receive.

And a big part of what I understood from this talk was to the degree we remain off the timeline, our physical bodies follow suit. I never identify with my birth year or any year. When I hear even a doctor say that at such and such an age you need this or that test I can't agree. If I do fall ill, it began in consciousness, not my age.

I totally agree with the lecture...Real Man is Ageless...Man's true identity can't get old,because Real Man is Spirit's likeness,and time doesn't exist in Spirit,where All is INFINITE...Age is an illusion of the material sense of life...Real Man is untouched by the nothingness of matter or age.He is Pure and Perfect...Real Man is the image of Eternal Life,GOD...He is not material,He is AllPowerfully SPIRITUAL....HE IS AGELESS!!!

We are eternal, immortal, spiritual by reflection.

Hello! It may be helpful to read the chapter on Prayer in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of Christian Science. It truly describes how one prays in Christian Science. Many blessings to you! www.christianscience.com/the-christian-science-pastor/science-and-health/chapter-i-prayer

If God is all good, all loving, how do Christians explain God's wrath, his anger, his destructive power, his acts of retribution, his punishments, his harsh judgments? We see that destructive power, that anger, expressed often in the Old Testament, but also in the New Testament. Are we made in God's image, or have we created the idea of God and modeled him after our own conflicted nature? Do we even know who or what God is? How can anybody speak with certainty about such profound matters? That there is an order to this universe I have no doubt. I think there is an intelligence far greater than ours, running this show. At least I hope so. But just what it is, or who it is, would appear to me to be way above our ability to say. And perhaps that is as it should be. Are we not called to be humble?
@PrayerThatHeals5 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comments, Jay. From the first chapter in the Bible, we learn that we are made as God’s image. God, being Spirit, means we are His spiritual image. We don’t see God as an enlarged human but as the essence of Love itself. People tend to blame God for what they don’t understand. Educated scientists have found a relation between living things despite location and evidence of a rhythm to everything happening in the universe. In Christian Science, we find God to be Good; forgiving “up to seventy times seven,” giving us plenty of time for sincere repentance. However, sin has proven it is not forgiving and it carries punishment. Humility was part of Jesus’ lesson, he was known by his fruits.

We would have been eternal...but Adam and eve messed it up...and the spiritual connection was broken...like God had said...we would die. Spirituality..we can try to, keep the law ..but we can't...until Jesus the Christ came and fulfilled it for us...bore our sins on the cross...and raised to give us newness of eternal life...accept Jesus as Lord and Savior...confess we are si news against God and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and eternal life...be born again of the Spirit

These talks are ALWAYS specifically aimed at non CS … that is their purpose. They are actually to educate non CS people about the CS way of seeing life and God and demonstrating that in daily life. Mark isn’t actually just discovering this idea himself … he’s sharing it … otherwise why else always include the info about Mary Baker Eddy ( which CS people all know)
