While you should do dua in arabic as well, I totally understand. I think making dua in arabic is more of a goal than a necessity, so inshallah you'll be able to do so someday but if not inshaallah it wont detract from your actions.

@@havee_ If I may, the answer is YES, Allah knows what you want, what you pray for, but learning Arabic still important to understand Qur'an, try learning step by step, as for praying, from what I learn, using Arabic in a prayer(shalah) is a must.

Masha Allah, as this year ramadan is coming out goal should read and understand Quran as much as possible, one source that benifited me very much is that there is a youtube channel by the name Nak fans that have short commentry of Quran explaining how subject is cotinuing in Quran which is some times difficult to appreciate in translation and how eloquent and powerfull Quran is, its a great source to begin to understand Quran. Listen, even if you still don't know much about Islam, don't worry and learn as you go, even if you are scared to be doing something incorrectly, just learn as you go. Even as a muslim there are somethings I thought I was doing correctly but eventually discovered they are wrong, and that's fine. You just continue and go on, but correctly after learning the correct way. If you discover you have been doing something wrong, that's okay, it's fine as long as you didn't know. And also if you have been doing something in salah wrong without knowing, it's accepted. You just learn not to make the same mistake twice. So don't be scared of not knowing a lot about Islam and just learn as you go.

Translations of the Quran is the best can happen to no arabs when they r invited by Allah to His religion. Genuines tears drop down while reading and not getting tired by hours at day or night. Indeed many things require an explanation to understand but I'll never forget the feeling of reading that translation 😊

If I prey in a different meaning it will mean absolutely nothing to me and I’ll feel some kind of guilt for praying when I don’t feel it in my heart.

@@bluearmyreen8273 Yes, but you need to understand that the number one priority is to read Qur'an in its original language. Even if you don't understand the meaning, you will still gain the most hasanat by reading it in the original before any translation (of course, recited w/ the right pronunciation). But its true that many of us aren't arab, and like alot of people, I'd like to know what I am reading so I can feel more connected with my faith and story. So just read both together. I read the verses first in arabic, then read the translation. Sometimes I do in increments so I'll read 5 ayahs then read the translation, or sometimes if I'm in a rush, I'll just read the arabic and then get back to reading the translations later.

@@shahidmanj2883 That depends on Allah's mercy, if let's say you're a non-Muslim but you were a good person in your time on earth, you were charitable, kind, etc. Allah may or may not grant you Jannah, if he does, it shall always be an exception rather than the norm. It is best to follow the teachings Allah has set for us because he has already revealed the proper ways of going to Jannah, and that is to be a Muslim first and foremost, to believe in Allah.

Mashallah welcome! As long as you’re doing the best you can, Allah will recognize that and forgive you for any hardships you have. There are also romanizations available to help say certain things like allahu akbar for those who cannot read in Arabic. Start there so you can get used to it and memorize which will get easier everyday as you complete your salat and daily tasks throughout the day

Try memorizing surah Al fatiha in Arabic : Bismillaah ar-Rahman ar-Raheem. Al hamdu lil lahi rabbil 'alamin. Arrahmanir rahim. Maliki yawmiddin. Iyyaka na'budu wa iyyaka nasta'in. Ihdinas siratal mustaqim. Siratal ladhina an'amta'alaihim, ghairil maghdubi'alaihim wa lad dhallin. Aameen And try memorizing surah al Ikhlas: Bismillaah ar-Rahman ar-Raheem. Qul hu wal lahu ahad, allahus samad, lam yalid wa lam yulad, wa lam ya kul lahu kufuwan ahad. These surahs are used in prayer also try understand the meaning of it so in English. Hope this helps

Yes but Arabic is a unique language. Translations can not give the true meanings of the words. Also we don't want anything changed so we all pray in one language the exact same way. If not words and meanings will change and next thing you know people are using different meanings and words and then we have a million different denominations arguing about who's right or wrong. ( Which is already a issue but it'll be even worse..Sunni, Shia, Wahabi, Sufi).

As an English speaking revert to Islam, I MADE THE MISTAKE OF LEARNING THE SALAT IN ARABIC WITHOUT GRASPING THE ENGLISH MEANING, so when I would pray, I would be like a robot and the words were not penetrating my heart and mind. So, I decided to GO SLOW, and say a verse of arabic in Arabic, then, soon afterwards, repeat the full english translation (silent and sometimes whispering)BEFORE proceeding to the following verse. Doing this made me feel if though I was more authentic in my prayers and not just rattling off the Arabic, no matter how elegant it sounded. After some time, I found that I could say the prayers in Arabic with my heart and mind knowing the meaning for sure. Try this method. It worked for me. You don't want to be a "rattler" without knowing what you are saying.

Salaam, I understand your argument. The question that arises here is the same as the Reformation. A few verses learned might give one the essence of the faith and some of rules if they learn the translation as well. Yes translation is a corruption or dilution of the essence but it creates a benchmark to begin the process to interpret the Quran and then to learn arabic proper it embrace the full essence and consciencely submit one's wil to the faith. Assalam Walekum. Alhamdulillah. Just a different perspective from one whom is too westernised. Apologies but I had to put it out there.

I have listened to you for years and may Allah guide us both. I strongly believe that the Quran is enough for me. I do not like to read "commentary" as I know it is someones opinion of what they believe Allah s.w.t means with his ayahs. Allah tells me that some of his verses are clear and other not so clear to everyone. I follow what I understand of the book and I do not follow conjecture. I hope we can all compete in goodness and all achieve paradise by his mercy, he is indeed the most merciful. This always came to my mind as the logic on why we read Quran and pray in Arabic. But here is where I am confused - I am not a native Arabic speaker but I understand almost everything we say in the salah bc I memorized it with meaning intentionally. The meaning of it I understand in the language that I know so when I am praying i think of AllahuAkbar as Allah is the greatest and similarly for all other phrases. So whether I say it in Arabic or not I am thinking of it in the language that I know as I am offering my salah
