Pre-Amp Tube Signal Flow For A Bugera V22 INFINIUM

I have this amplifier for three weeks, and I must say that, it is one of the best purchases I've made. It is a very silent amplifier, with a sweet clean, and a very defined crunch overdrive. I miss the reverberation tank, but the digital reverb it brings is not bad. It's not a Fender, or a Marshall. It is an excellent amplifier of its own character.

Thanks for the reminder, changing my pre-amp tubes in my V55HD today from 12ax7's to a JJ 12AY7 in V1 and Tung-Sol 5751's in V2 and V3. Can't wait!!!

I got a v22 since 2015. If you ignore the buzz that you get sometimes its a decent vintage amp. Very bright too. I got a EHX 12ax7s on V1 and a JJ 12ax7 on v2. Both ordinary ,commercially available tubes. I tried tad wa too at one point.

Hey DMS can EL-84's be changed to 6v6's in these V22 amps? Will the auto bias system allow this swap? I like 6L6 / 6v6 over EL-34 / EL-84's. Btw do you know of any of the Bugera Tube amps take 6v6 tubes? I'm looking to buy an combo that's gotta 12" & a Fender type clean w/spring verb but a smoking Lead Chanel or a great crunch sound i'm looking hard at this amp or the 55watt one. Thx

Which tube is first & last. Not sure where to install the first tube. I want to try changing it with a 12at7 in order to reduce the gain and overall volume. Smooth it out a little for Blues at my apartment. PLEASE RESPOND. Thanks again.

It would be helpful to know how the triode/pentode mode plays into this, and the power section as well. I'd like to do something to improve the OD channel, but I'm not sure where to go with that. Am I better off looking at the preamp tubes or the power section tubes?

Thanx for great explanation of pre-amp tube function in V22. If I understand correctly, to change to sound of an amp, it makes sense to switch and try different 12AX7 tubes in positions 1 & 2, right? Tube in position 3 does not affect the sound, am I right?

Thank you so much for this vid. I couldn't find this info anywhere else. I really love my v22hd but am looking to change the dynamics of the gain channel. In your opinion, which tube swap would have more effect on the sound of the gain channel, v-1 or v-2? or would a v-3 swap also effect the gain channel? The clean tone on this amp is incredible but the gain channel is just a touch to fizzy for me.

Why do you have to use a 12ax7B in the Phase inverter as I am not sure what the B is really indicating. Is it a more robust tube design or lower noise floor? I have the infinium 55 Watt combo and the Infinium 22V Head. I love the 22 watt. The 55 Is more like my fender amps. Thank you for the good review.

I want an easy way to add a real spring reverb tank to mine haha, I’ve built other amps before but I used old-school point to point wiring... not too experienced with smaller PCBs just yet so if I went inside I wouldn’t know where to split off for my tank, or if you guys need reverb amplifiers for the small reverb sound processor card you have inside..?

Interesting and informative video sir. I have one of these being delivered on Sunday. I've been playing (badly) for 30+yrs and never played a tube amp. I thought that I would correct that by buying one of these as for a cheaper tube amp, it has had some good reviews. You say changing the pre-amp tube can change the character tone of the amp - so, would I be able to make it more 'fendery' if I wanted a bit more of that type of tone. (maybe it's pretty fendery as it is but would like to know, just in case)

I have a V22 Infinium repair to do. One of the fault LEDs lights and no sound. Changing the tubes does not fix it. Can I get any support materials for the Infinium model? Cheers!

So can I just experiment tube swapping with V1 and get different tones or do I have to try with both V1 and V2? Does the phase inverter effect tone also? Thanks!

I have two questions. One, I have been using an amp sim pedal (Joyo British) through my effects loop. I plug into the pedal, not the amp. Since this amp has some more circuitry, is this a safe thing to do? Second question. What are the specs of the Turbosound speaker? RMS, peak and so on. Thanks!

Is there a way to change the valves without having to remove the chassis? I tried doing it with the chassis still in cab but ended up breaking pins on the valves as you're almost doing it blind. Hard to line up the pins. My one complaint with the amp

That's with any amp and no there isn't. Honestly it's not hard I've done it. Just spin the tube till you feel it drop down a bit. That's a dead give away you're in the right spot. Never broke a tube in 10 years.
