*PRE-ARRIVAL* Working Bus Fire 50's First due [Phoenix Fire Dept. AZ]

The call was dispatched as a shed fire in 50's due with Engine 41 off initial. 36 was special called. When I arrived on-scene it turned out to be a well involved bus fire. Units that were on-scene were E42, E41, E36 and LT50.

US fire company arrives, 2-4 mins later line is Charged and active....... what's the point... i watch Netherlands group arrive to a fire get 2 fast attack lines going in under 20 sec as they have one on each side on spools.. putting water on the fire at 1 min.. and other crew members getting water lines set and hooked to water source and another crew member looking for extra fire so they can plan for extra support if needed... i've seen many groups from the USA where the crews are just slow to act.. house burns down before a drop of water will even exit an engine. i'm sorry but the slowness is a problem.. the the Fire Truck is the problem start importing MAN/MERC/VOLVO/SCANIA. they have the same size tank if not bigger and all the same stuff in a smaller package and still can carry a max 10 firefighters..

I feel like the first engine should have just pulled up and fought the fire with tank water. Let the second engine catch the hydrant. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Maybe, depends on how far out they were. I wouldn't make that call unless I was there. I don't know the weather conditions, maybe they wanted a good water supply so they wouldn't end up with a brush fire as well. I don't know what their SOP's are either. The bus was going to be a total loss either way.

Yes there absolutely was a need to do that. The pump panel that the driver operates is on the left side. And morons were driving over the hose. Not to mention even after the third truck was there, idiots were still trying to drive around it.

Must be nice work if you can get it. Bus was totally destroyed by the time the "firefighters" figured out you need to have water to extinguish a fire. Congratulations and now go finish your lunch.

Two comments: for all the people who scream about EV fires, percentage wise there are far more ICE vehicle fires. Secondly that cop should have made themselves useful and shut down traffic on the road

There are far more ICE vehicles than battery, what's your point???? And ICE vehicles don't end up being a giant haz-mat clean up, and a fire hazard for WEEKS like battery vehicles.
