I've been spam watching white mage vids because it's my first time leveling and most of them talk as if you already know all of the spells and when to use them. Just started WHM-ing last week after I took a quick look at WHM months ago and then went back to NIN. Level skipped WHM from 32 to 70 and started grinding Bozja after a quick bit of levelling with FATES and beast tribes. Mind got blown in my first instanced L70+ dungeon, panicking, not knowing what anything did. Thankfully I had a friend in VC who'd healed the last tier of savage to talk me through things and calm me down. We made it through but I was shocked by JUST how different he healer game play is to melee DPS. I'd expected a shift in mind set, sure, but it was such a gulf between the two I felt like a fish trying to ride a bike. I honestly think that spending some more time healing will improve my gameplay overall. Watching this afterwards has helped cement things for me even more, helped me see where skills can line up to really aid MP regen/conservation and prioritisation of OGCD use vs GCD use. Gotta stop hoarding my Lilies and OGCDs like they're potions and scrolls in Baldur's Gate. XD Love your calm, clear voice and the BG music too; wonderful work!

Very easy to follow. I'm an idiot and thought the different cure spells healed more HP and party members, now I know different. Especially cure III with that smaller tighter AoE. This is my first MMO, so it's taking a while to get used to playing with others. I am used to playing RPG's. My friend wanted to do something different, so we hopped in and are both loving this game.

I just started recently. 26 conjuror. When I hit 30, and get the White mage job, do I still need to level conjoror? Do I go back to level 1 White mage?

The conjurer level and the white mage lvl will be the same! Basically the conjurer (class) becomes the white mage (job). You do not have to start back at 1. This applies to all Classes/job combos.

When you level up and learn your next cure (e.g Cure || -> Cure |||) do you stop using Cure || and Cure? In previous games you stop using old spells once you get an upgrade but I don’t know if it’s the same for final fantasy?

In this game those are actually different abilities instead of upgraded versions. For example, Cure 3 is a small AoE heal while Cure 2 is a single target heal.

Spamming Cure1 for the Cure2 proc is a bit of a noob trap so please keep that in mind fellow white mages, for the most part you don't want to turn into Cure1bot Number: 48296 in the dutyroulettes. Cure 1 drops off quickly when you start getting out of the leveling content.

Are you serious? I’ve been playing Cure III as though the AOE was centered around me. Usually, it’s the tank that is alone, on the other side of a large boss, which can be out of range for me. But I guess I haven’t been using that effectively.

No worries it is a simple fix! First off make sure to do your class quests. (They pop up under your MSQ). When you do the level 30 class quest you will get a spirit gem for White Mage. Go into your armory and go to the Spirit Stone section. Once found equip it! It will change you to white mage. You will then have to reequip everything. Let me know if that helps!

Hey, sorry about the late response. You get access to White Mage after completing your level 30 Conjurer class quests. It will be listed under your current MSQ UI element. If you have already done the class quests then you just have to equip the crystal. The crystal will be in your armory chest.
