@@jelphick4686 He is great thank you! So lovely of you, thank you. Funnily enough, my mother and I saw Bear show jump at Stafford last year and was in awe of her scope! We took Pat back to Stafford this year where he finished 2nd, I then conveniently fell off a breaker and had to withdraw him from Kelsall Hill Final! Hopefully see you out next year xx

Totally felt your frustration when you jumped Jam, I've been there many times! Obviously I don't know the horse or you and I'm not an expert (I've done affiliated showjumping up to 1.20m, and have 2 equine science degree's so not a complete beginner) so you can ignore me but what I noticed from watching is that you rode Dee more up and into the contact so that she could get on her hocks and give you a nice jump. When you rode Jam you held her all the way into the fence, she lost a lot of energy and impulsion hence jumping flat and losing a lot of rhythm around corners etc making it much harder for you to see a stride. Personally I would work with poles/small fences focusing on pushing her up to the bridle, sitting up, and keeping her more on her hocks right up to the fence it's not about speed but energy from behind which will not only build strength but also should help get a better rounder jump too. I hope this makes sense/ maybe helps a little! Always happy to chat more in-depth if wanted :)

Brilliant vlog Meg. Really good to see all the training and routine. You do really well and have a fantastic attitude with your horses and ponies. A pleasure to watch. If you only showed what you’re super pleased with then that would be falling into the modern trap of setting unrealistic imagery of life ( in our case life with horses) and it is more responsible of you to show that things do have to be worked at and that things are not always perfect just because you are a good rider. And horses aren’t machines. Good days/ not so good days are the mix we live with. Thanks for sharing it. Watching this helps us riders to work towards our goals. If it was too perfect, we’d give up as soon as we had a bad day. I’ve learnt lots from your vlogs. Xx

Course: Put a jump at the three quarter mark E and B and then one from K to M and H to F I jump it like this: I come down on the three quarter line E then come round H to F come back round and jump B then go M to K you can do it both reins just do it the opposite. Hope this helps x

Dont worry about the jumping Meg! My horse is also very very sensitive and he rushes fences so much and if yiu pull to much he dioesnt slow down, but his canter just dies completely and then he obviously cant get over the jump and you cant sit down properly on that canter, but if you use your legs then he just shoots forward like i rocket! Its a loosing game. But that is what practice is for. You can make all the mistakes you want in practice and figuring out what works depending in the horses mood that day! One day its gonna be amazing! Trust me! Jam is young, and it will only become better!

There's a really useful jump exercise where you build a zigzag down the centre line. You can do figure 8s, loop, circles etc

i have an event this week and i’m so excited because it’s going to be fun and i’m moving down a level since we didn’t know how my last event was going to turn out! also i didn’t know if i would be able to go since my pony caught herself on the fence and had to get stitches! she also tried to gallop and buck when i turned her out thursday and she fell on her knees so i didn’t know if i would be able to go🙄 so excited i will be able to go edit: she got her stitches out today so i will be able to go! she also decided she was terrified of the sprinkler so i spent 30 minutes trying to get her near it🙄🤦‍♀️😂
