I love you plans, Polly! And all your colours are still very subdued and controlled... I love how you look and research the trends, I will be making an effort to do the same. 🤩 The animal print fabric I think is my favourite, I think it will look very rich with the coat and the boots. The green one at the beginning is another fave, although all of them are very trendy and classy at the same time! Looking forward to see what comes out from underneath your finger tips 🥰😘

I love your plans for September. Your Bermuda shorts fit you nicely, a sophisticated and classic look. Definitely an outfit that you could wear for many years. I like the pants idea with the black faux leather. A look that is so on trend this season. Where did you purchase your faux leather? I look forward to seeing your upcoming makes. Thanks for sharing and happy sewing.

Thank you Patricia! I love my bermudas and I am so glad I have a pair now in my summer wardrobe. As for the faux leather - I bought it a while back (over a year ago) from a Bulgarian fabric shop. If you are looking for faux leather I would just suggest to always pay attention to 1) weight of the leather (choose something pliable) and 2) backing ( check if it has a smooth fabric covered backing). Hope this helps! I am off to work on these sewing plans now :)

Hello Polly 😊 Talking of cut-outs, have you seen the new pattern Flawsome top/dress from Pattern Emporium? I’m currently sewing Pattern Emporium’s Every Day’s a Holiday tiered dress, to be followed by the Dream On dress. I just love the fit, reliability, ease of sewing and generous number of variations that come with Kate’s patterns! Now I’m looking forward to seeing your Dream On dress!! Thanks for sharing your beautiful fabrics & interesting pattern plans. I always thoroughly enjoy your inspiring presentations Polly 😊💖

Ahhh, Julie, you make me blush - always the kindest comments from you - thank you! I couldn't agree more with you on the PE patterns - fit, reliability, variations and so very easy to sew. PE is quickly turning into one of my favourite indie pattern companies at the moment and I check every new release. I saw the Flawsome dress and.... I am still thinking about it. I saw some incredible versions of it in the FB group though, did you check them out? I am so excited about the Dream on dress...and knowing how easy it is to sew I am just going to whip it very soon I think. Will share soon! Thank you for watching and being so wonderful! XX

I’m becoming a PE enthusiast too… I’ve recently made a few different versions of KEEP it SIMPLE BABE top. I love them all, especially my turtle necks with long sleeves ( one in merino knit, the other in a bamboo elastin, both fabrics from The Fabric Store, beautiful quality). The shape is very flattering and slimming, as well as totally comfortable. They get lots of compliments (always welcome 😂).I didn’t need to make any changes at all. It looks great on my daughter Elizabeth ( your height & size), as does the PE Hello Gorgeous top. I make the long lengths for her without any changes. You might like those patterns ✨ Re elastic gathering… Yes please!! I tried the gathering technique this afternoon on my PE Every Day’s a Holiday dress. It looks fine, although the gathered tier slightly stretched the bodice waist seam. I deliberately made the looser pattern first, just in case, so it’s not obvious. Usually I’d unpick and do it again. But I’m wary of overworking knit fabrics. I didn’t enjoy the process. That’s not usual either 😄 I haven’t seen the PE Facebook group yet, but I’m about to have a look now. Thanks for the good suggestion Happy sewing 😊🌸🌷
@thesewingedit3 жыл бұрын
@@juliepeacock1846 Did you mean you tried to do the gathering of your PE dress with clear elastic? Strange that it stretched the bodice seam. If I were you next time I work with clear elastic I would give it a bit of a tug and stretch before I sew it onto the strip of fabric that needs to be gathered. That should help prepare the elastic prior to sewing it. Hope this helps! And do go and see the PE FB group and it is very active and full of inspiration! Also, thank you for the PE pattern suggestions. I think all these patterns are great and I agree with all said above about PE ! Happy sewing!

Such interesting plans Polly! I'm intrigued by the faux leather trousers and the viscose top in particular, I saw the Lore Piar's pattern and I think it would look great with both pants fabric! I'm planning my fall makes too (let's say that I'm in the fabric shopping phase :D). Something I'll try is to add some fun color this winter, maybe some fuscia? I might have found a very bright fabric at the local market, and I'm willing to give it a try! Francesca

Fusia sounds amazing! I got mine in Bulgaria and I am dreaming of a full suit version in fusia. that would be awesome, not sure how practical though and that is why always going down in the priority list. I am so curious to see what you come up next too. Thank you for watching! I am off to the sewing machine. Xx

You have so many great plans, Polly! I love those bermuda shorts - they look fantastic on you. I am still dreaming and trying to figure out how much time I have versus all the patterns I'd like to sew, and I really need to go through my wardrobe and see what can stay and what needs to go.

Thank you Meg! I know what you mean - I often feel overwhelmed with my plans but basically aiming for 1 garment per week and if it doesnt work, well then as long as it takes. But I agree going through your wardrobe first is a very good idea. I am curious to know what you will come up next though. Xx

Hi Polly, Beautiful fabrics! Looking forward to seeing your finished makes. I am interested in the gathering technique with the elastic, I have never done that. Your Zadie Jumpsuit is gorgeous! Did you size down when you made it, or go by your measurements? It fits you perfectly. I want to make one and have a fit like yours. Some that I have seen are a little big and sloppy looking.
@thesewingedit3 жыл бұрын
Ahh, Linda, thank you so much! It has been a while since I was choosing the size but a scar as I remember I stuck to the size chart and chose my size. I think if you go up a size you might get a gaping around the wrap closure and if you go down a size you might experience some tightness in the chest and back area if you are built similar to me . I did decrease the ease in the bottom of the jumpsuit considerably at the inseam and At the side seam. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching! Xx

HI Rita, I fully understand you. Although I speak somewhat of Dutch (I am Bulgarian) I don't make Dutch version of my videos. As for other Dutch sewing vloggers speaking Dutch in the videos I can only think of NIE NIE SEWING who has some You Tube videos but she also has a lovely Dutch sewing podcast with another Dutch lady so you might have a look.
