Hey guys! Harvard Med School reached out to me about their online prep program. I took a look at it and thought it was great. This video is not sponsored. So many students reach out to me asking how they can prepare for a medical school curriculum and I believe this course provides excellent prep!

Thanks again for all your tips and sharing your smiles! After looking into graduate programs in Australia it seems like it would be tough to get in or at least to do well without a science background. So I'm thinking of going for an undergraduate course, this video helped! Um tips: in my drama school we had to practice telling personal stories. And every time you said "um" you have to say something like "mashed potato" as soon as you realise. Saying something so out of place helps you realise where you naturally tend to fill in the breaks of your speech. And you want to stop saying mashed potato all the time. Also working with students who are not native speakers and don't say Um helped me slow down my speech and eliminate it from the way I talk. Of course, now I'm back in my home country and home environment I quickly picked up the Ums and Likes again. In watching my own videos I realised how much I say "So" which is natural when talking but watching a video of different clips for the viewer it's unnecessary. 😂 Lots to learn when we watch ourselves.

Can you talk a bit about GPA+MCAT and applying to med school? Specifically, what schools to apply to and how to go about fixing GPA or MCAT.
@WhiteCoatChronicles7 жыл бұрын
janellia jolley I have a video about the different steps needed for a strong application, as well as a video for how to choose the right med school. You can checkout my playlist. For improving GPA, maybe retake some classes, or if you're already done, try doing a post bacc. The MCAT is a tough one. If you've already taken it and didn't perform well, maybe you could consider a prep course

@WhiteCoatChronicles5 жыл бұрын
MK B internship? I’m not familiar with what kind of internship you’re referring to for undergrad. I think a competitive score is 510. Aim for 505+

@WhiteCoatChronicles7 жыл бұрын
Ehis Itama you'll have to work harder to get a residency placement, but it's definitely not impossible. If it's you're last option, then I don't think there's anything wrong with going that route. Just know you'll have to work way harder as far as grades, STEP score, etc for residency.

Marwa Abdeen hi yeah the admission process is same as US.High school ➡️College(4yrsAny course)➡️MCAT➡️Pre med
@esthervictoreah73806 жыл бұрын
Well Canada has subtle differences very few med schools compared to usa ...at least 4 to 6 med schools don't require a bachelor's all they need is 2 to 3 years of undergrad ...some med schools don't require the mcat especially those in Quebec. but mostly it's the same with usa

lets say i just graduate and finished school, i dont get into medical school directly? i have to study another major? where i live i have to study a year that is a pre med after that year depending on your dgree you get in a major such as pharma and dentist. excuse my bad english but im planning to study in the us
@WhiteCoatChronicles7 жыл бұрын
beyondstars in the US, you go to a 4 year college and can pick any major you like. You just have to take the required pre req courses for med school. After college, you apply for med school (4 years)
@lavishbri.x7 жыл бұрын
Hello, I'd like to know if anyone has any ideas about moving from the I.K to the USA to study medicine? I know I'd have to do an undergrad course first probably in biology but please fill me in with more info if you have any knowledge about it. I'm currently 18 years and in year 13 in the UK
@WhiteCoatChronicles7 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I am unfamiliar with the international admissions process. But yes, for med school you must do an undergraduate degree of your choice. It doesn't have to be biology, (but I recommend it). You also take the MCAT admissions exam usually during your 3rd year of undergrad
