What To Do In High School To Prepare For Med School

What should you do in high school to prepare for med school?
Here are some tips that you can apply as early as high school to increase your chances of getting into med school and succeeding.
Do high school grades matter in med school application? What about extra curriculars, research, and volunteer work? What is shadowing?
I wish I had done all of these tips to have an edge in med school as well!

Hi. I love your channel. Im a mother of an incoming senior HS. She already told me that she really wants to take up Med. Im a little bit disappointed as I know the facts and realities of becoming a doctor. I tried to discourage her, but she's really decided. Im a single mom and I was hoping that she will be able to help me financially after taking up architecture. That was supposed to be the plan!haha Apparently, that's not what she likes. She's a fan of Grey's Anatomy. She likes reading medical books as well. She's keen on learning about science specifically bio. So I guess, this is really her path. One thing I think that I should do when I was still in highschool is to really enjoy the most out of it because you will miss highschool so much. Enjoy highscool and choose the path that you really like. Follow your dream. I repeat, your dream not anyone else's. 🙂

this is a year late, but yes. usually people who are of average intelligence, but memorize very well, will do much better in med school than very intelligent people who don’t study or memorize well. in med school, the amount of content you have to memorize is otherworldly.

Im a college graduate po dok, but hindi siya pre med talaga, BS Psychology. I just recently had the interest and aspiration of being a medical doctor. But in this vid, u said that serving is a great foundation, which reinforces my interest po. I will try to volunteer na para ma expose ako.
