Dont be too concerned, because the Beta has bugs. Developer always have an internal patch that is far more stable and has less bugs. I am very optimistic that they figure everything out

So I'm wondering... I haven't played retail for a while and never played the classics, but will come for cata. Is it worth waiting for the prepatch to level up or am I may aswell getting in now and levelling? I won't lie, I enjoy the levelling changes in cata but not convinced I'll have the time to get to 80 before it launches, unless xp requirements are reduced

By the current state of beta it's simply far from being ready.

​@@MMRegrin The state of the beta isn't as bad as people think. The game itself is feature complete with known bugs, just like you'd expect in a beta. The UI is a different story though. Probably because they're moving it to a new client, so lots of files needs updated to the new client. This is why we've tested the shattered world with lots of Wrath UI elements. Right now when the beta launches I get an error as it can't load a .lua file from the "Blizzard_SharedXML_Cata.toc" file. Extracting the interface files shows that .lua file doesn't exist. So I expect they're currently adding lots of Cata stuff to the UI and fixing all these issues. But doing so will also throw lots of errors until it's done. Nothing I've seen seems like complex issues and as a developer that has updated monoliths to newer frameworks before. It can easily take time but isn't necessarily complex.

What you mean we haven't been able to test glyphs? I have all of them on my 85 rogue/druid and 84 dk. Also, tmog and reforge are in and functional as of yesterday. The guild UI is in and functional, although there are pieces that are unknown, mass ress seems to have been changed to a healer only (any class that can heal now has a trainable mass res). The updates that came yesterday were only available for a bit, but they updated a lot. Haste works correctly, mastery effects are functional on all my toons (haven't tested others). I think we'll see what needs to be completed done in short order over the next week with some polish over the last 2 weeks.

It may be copium but I think they had a version of the game near complete already at the ready, and beta was released as a lesser version just to fake doing a bunch of fixes upon release.

The 10 man raids are screwed was a bit dramatic. There's only a small percentage of the guilds that would actually care about their players running both. Those harcore guilds can go burn themselves out and quit.

my guild doesn't care about running both, but we do. because it's more content. this youtuber is acting like this somehow killed 10 man guilds who were already worse off in wrath since they couldn't draw the same gear.

I agree with your overall sentiment. It worries me immensely that they seem to just be rushing Cataclysm out the door and plan to rush through it when this was a real chance for them to fix issues with the expansion, including even (gasp!) reworking a couple oft-maligned boss encounters, amongst a myriad of other, much smaller and manageable issues. Cataclysm was a good expansion and it's a shame that the classic version is shaping up to only reinforce the unfair negative reputation it has. All that said, watch them strand us on Draenor for 21 months in WoD Classic. XD

Flex raiding is NOT to do both 10 and 25 as 2 different runs. It simply allows you to swap bosses between 10m and 25m. You're still locked to the same ID. This change HAS NO IMPACT on smaller guilds.

I think you’re misinterpreting the flexible raid lock system. I think it’s going to be nothing different than the original. They would never do that without creating a new loot table which is a lot of work and everything about cata classic already feels worryingly lazy.

dude it doesn't screw 10 man raiding, there are pug 25s in wrath, there will be pug 25s in cata. i personally hope this is true, my guild does both 10 and 25 each week anyway. and do you know what hte complaint on my guild right now is? not enough to do. we're not PVPers. so after we've cleared the raids each week, we get to twiddle our thumbs! we were worried we wouldnt' get to do both. and if you think being able to do 10 and 25 in the same week somehow screws 10 man guilds..... WTAF do you think has been going on all of wrath? oh wait they can't even get the same gear!!! melodramatic AF.

New server with no account wide stuff for first phase. That’s what will make me play Cata. I get that people say the server will die quickly but that’s ok if a merger is done when it does / phase 2 min. They use AWS now, so no excuses.

This is the most disingenuous take ever. The beta doesn’t mean shit. The beta has never meant shit. The only purpose of beta releases is so content creators can give free advertising for Blizzard. Beta player feedback has never affected release content in any meaningful way. The release will be fine. And the 10/25 raid split is a vast improvement over the WotLK system. I think you’re just looking for things to bitch about for engagement. Chill out. If the beta is pissing you off then stop playing it and just wait for release.

Anecdote only but judging by how the people in my guild and friend group grumbled about doing 10mans for specific items even in wrath I'm not sure that's true. Letting people do both means 10mans die because they're trolling themselves by not doing 25s and 25 man guilds are inting by not running double the amount of raids

@@ValryshaClips i think that grumbling is more because a better item doesn't exist in 25 man, which means they're only running it for 1 item. in this case they'd be running both for the same loot drops, just doubling their chances. plus more things to do is fun!
