Dude you're killing it. As an aspiring/young DP, hearing your story and studying your stuff has been and is invaluable to me. Also, side note, I've seen that True Classic commercial and it's crazy that you were a part of that! Super well-done ad.

Hey filmmaker friend, thanks for sharing. It’s pretty usual information. Anytime I create a proposal, I also try to add all other estimated fees for anything to do with the commercial. That way the client sees why the total cost for every aspect of the job.

This content has been really needed. You are going into the depth that many of us have been craving. If possible, can you also include in this series when an art department gets involved in set building and who do they report to? How early in pre-production do they get involved and do they also attend location scouts?

Saying Producers pick their DPs is a deception. That's what we think they do, But the reality is.. they pick a director who gets to choose a DP they wanna work with. More often than not Directors don't wanna work with a random DP they never met because the producer hired a cheap person who couldn't do what was needed. Do you agree?
@carlostigs

Correct Directors usually want their pick but it’s the producer who usually reaches out is what I was saying
