From what a I've learned doing Presales/Deployment at the same time, is that you'll become more self independent from people when you're selling by your own rather than needing people to do it. As Presales you really can't deploy, but as Deployer, you really can't sell.

In a similar position. Will do treehouse techdegree for Fullstack Development on my spare time, so I have an indispensable hard skill with or without a company’s job.

Can't agree enough. I'd take the sales opportunity, if you hate it, just study leetcode.com questions for 3 months and score a job at a FANG company. You can't lose either way.

I really like the way you simplify the jobs and make it more realistic instead of complexity... I do have a question.. What are the requirements for Remote Desktop Services company for end-users and small? businesses?

That's what I try to do is simplify some of the complexities of IT so that its easy to understand. Thanks for noticing! I'm not sure I understand your question?

This video is almost fitting my situation, but slightly different. I have been working for the same company 11 years already, now I have chance to get my severance package and continue to do similar job (Integration Engineer) in the same technology domain in a different company. Or I can get an Internal Presales Engineer role in a different technology domain. Luckily my current company gives enough time and training to learn the new technology and Presales way of working. My main confusion is: will I like to work as Presales engineer? Some parts of the job for example customer visits, meetings, presentations are very fine for me - but working on excel files, pricing, contracts, statement of work preparation, choosing a political language sounds quite boring for now. By the way Presales Engineer role is paid base salary + bonus. I am curious about you recommendation : Presales Engineer role inside the same company or Integration Engineer role in a different company after getting severance package ? Thank you

Sorry for the late reply. That's a tough decision. 11 yrs with one company is a long time and you have alot invested there. If you leave, you're starting all over. I would ask yourself a few questions. Do you like the current company? Do you like the ppl you work with? Is the company stable to where if you stay there and take the new position, will you be "safe" for the long term? Are the benefits good? Then compare all of that will starting at the new company. I don't know the specifics about an integration engineer so I'm not sure what that entails.

Good informative video. I too have a similar query where i am kinda stuck to move forward with available option. I have experience in Major incident Management for almost 10 years and trying to step up the ladder. Shall i go for PMO roles or Pre sales one or Delivery end ? Any inputs would be highly appreciable

I'm not familiar with Major incident management. Is PMO a project management role? Where does pre-sales or delivery fit into what you're already doing?

Wouldn't a non compete stop you from that side hustle?

Only if they have a non-compete AND if they do, it depends on the clauses defined. In this specific scenario, I don’t see any conflict of interest. Good question.
