Pre-season= off-season is the same coach?
@Johnshepherdtrackcoach3 жыл бұрын
Yes, apologies if I used both terms … it could be argued I will say that pre-season is specific work before for example, football training proper starts … but in a way that’s what I want to convey ie some specific preparation for “winter training” Thanks

Sir, What can I do as a long jumper during weight training to avoid my body getting bulky and for more explosive power ?
@zber90433 жыл бұрын
Do plyos instead or Do small sets of fast reps I.e. max 5.

Yes, that's a good answer and not too far off what I'd say too.

What Z Ber says below is a good answer - more reps i.e. 8-10 at say 70-80% of 1RM will have a greater hormonal effect and can lead to bigger muscle size and weight gain which could be negative for your power to weight ratio. The only thing I would add would be to combine weights and plyos into a workout so that you can get potentiation benefits too - so 3x 5 heavy squats and 3 x 6 drop jumps from 60cm, as an example Good luck and thanks for passing by
