I always enjoy working my way through your training programmes, (presently on week 2 of the half marathon playlist), as it forces me to do some of the mid/top tier rows I might be otherwise be too lazy to try, so looking forward to following this latest 10 day programme. Love the channel btw, it's what gets me out into a freezing garage and on the machine every day.

This is an excellent workout. I'm also working my way back into a good rowing regimen, and this was tough for me - but your commentary kept me on the right track. I'm going to follow you and your new friend ChatGPT through the series. Thanks as always!

Thanks for a good session. It’s been a month since I’ve been on the C2. Vacation and then Bike and Trike rides when I got back. Today’s weather got me back on the rower. 😊

I did this session again today. Much different by keeping my initial 2 min slower than last time. On Sat my avg dropped by 10 - 11 sec on the 6th round and I could only get within 4 - 7 sec of that on the last two rounds. Today I started at the final avg pace from Sat and I was able to get just a little faster on each round so that my final avg was a sec faster than Sat. Fitter, Faster, Stronger.

Great one today! I have ignored the rower for a month or so while concentrating on Echo Bike and running. Great way to dust off the Concept 2 this afternoon.

Back onto the Erg after an injury. Naturally looked to your channel for inspiration. Had to temper so as not to die after 3 reps. Died after 4 instead 🙄 work to do..

I have come back for week 2 and finished at an average 500m pace 0,7 seconds faster than last week.

Hello John and everyone I thought I had really understood drag factor I recently watched this video kzbin.infoH63I5XKX5FM As remarkable as it may seem, I did not know this but I tested it and it's true. I set the drag factor to 10 and rowed softly and there was virtually no resistance. This in turn explains why I see so many people in my gym, including girls who probably don't weigh over 50lg, row with a high drag factor and say that they do this as the machine does not seem to offer much resistance. i think it also explains why people say they prefer the Matrix rower as it offers "much more" resistance. They are simply not rowing hard enough to get any substantial amount of air into the Concept 2. So the next time they ask me for advice, instead of telling them to drop the drag factor, which they are reluctant to do as they think there is no real resistance at 10, I'll tell them to row harder first to feel the real resistance that the Concept 2 can offer, and then they will want to drop it automatically. What do you think? Regards

Haha!! Are you spying on my computer?!? I've literally got the script open for a video I'm in the middle of making about how drag factor / the lever / the numbers are misleading. I even use pretty much an identical example of 'limping' through a stroke versus power. So I agree entirely with you! You only get out what you put in on a Concept2.

@@rowalong Hello John. Well that's great as it's perhaps a point that we need to be enlightened on. It just flabbergasted me as I never pull so lightly as to have discovered this for myself. And it explained so much to me about how/why others perceive the Concept 2 as offering very little/inadequate resistance. I look forward to your video on this and to see how you take this "quirk" into consideration when planning/doing a session whether it's a light, medium or heavy one.
