I have those modern H0 Märklin model trains and my 1-year old son got a (wooden) BRIO steam engine and he loves it. But I too must admit that those old scale 0 trains do have a special charm. Thanks for the video!

There's a LOT less to go wrong with it too! I don't trust the exotic electronics they're packing new model trains with. Having worked with circuit boards for 30 years let me tell you, they can last for 30 years or blow tomorrow, you never know. Keep it simple, you're better off in the long run.

I have the exact same model. My father gave it to me when I was 10. He played with the train when he was a young boy... it's one of the few toys he has left from his childhood. Nice to see one saved for future generations.

Wonderful; magic! I bought a Lionel train set from the early 80's or 70's. It has plastic parts, but the guts of it are metal, simple controler etc.. Simple is best , especially for young kids today, it teaches them mindulness and opens the door to the wonderful world of the "Imagination"; the best "nation"!

I’ve been restoring prewar electric trains and steam engines for years and can tell you your attention to detain is fabulous. Nicely done! The ONLY thing I would have done differently is to keep the tender wheels nickel colored. Great job.

Fantastic restoration! It's incredible to see the transformation of the Märklin R-910, especially knowing it was abandoned and seized when you found it. The effort you put into restoring each part, from unblocking the engine to fixing the counterweights, really shows your dedication and skill. The use of old labels to bring it back to its original glory is a great touch. Loved watching it come back to life at the end of the video. Your channel is doing amazing work in preserving these historical pieces. Can't wait to see what you restore next!

You, sir, did some wonderful work; and brought a beautiful engine back to life. They REALLY new how to build toys back then. I wish I would have saved some of mine from the 50's. They were handed down through the generations and your grandchildren played with toys that used to be yours. They don't last like that anymore. Great job!
