Minor boo to that first author, Fiesta Online was an absolute banger back in the day. Those Kingdom Quests were the greatest, especially the Mara Pirate, Gold Rush and Millenium Robo ones. Teaching 15 complete MMO noobs what conal AOE, threat, tanking, positioning kiting and pulling was in a single lowish level instance was so good. Being an absolute chad and main tanking/leading these was so much fun as a teen. So many good memories.

Ahhh I loved fiesta so much back in the day. Mini dragon Kingdom Quest was always such a nightmare because people couldn't do the mechanics haha. So much fun though

Best part of this episode was Mentioning Alex Kid. Everyone thinks Sega began with Sonic but before Genesis there was just Sega master system with Alex Kid and my favorite Wonder Boy. Wonder Boy 3 the Dragons Trap is top tier rpg in my book still today.

It's like the promised neverland gambit. Tell everyone something different, and see what info comes out. Even has the plot twist of another test, and it being someone who didn't really seem to be on trial. The player really manipulated things even trying to eliminate a player. And yes I know GoT did it earlier but this is really the first time I've seen it irl.

XP loss on death is a tool disbanded since WoW and probably rightfully so in most mmos. But Preach as you mentioned PoE, is a game where xp loss on death is well implemented. (starts at a certain point in the story, and is fully implemented when you start mapping) Imo, it's another tool the world forgot about, as everyone have followed Blizzards ways for decades. It's a shame it's not even considered, some games could benefit from the extra Risk/reward concept, depending on the games focus.
