I have never heard of the endocrinology approach to muscle building, and the way you've broken it down just makes sense. The major influence of synthetic GH effectiveness, and mitigating their potential harm, is somehow finding the correct combination of hormones to stimulate the desired anabolic response - which is different for every individual. But stimulating the glands themself to produce our inherent optimized proportions is genius - not to mention the holistic health benefits...

Vince WAS a genius, as were the puoneers. Vince said drugs destroyed the sport. He was right. That is my purpose of reintroducing this approach to nutrition. To steer people away from drugs and build themselves NATURALLY

This vid alone should earn undying gratitude to our Golden Era Bookworm for his development of his channel here, and reproductions of information lost in the techno-world of exogenous neuroendocrinal analogues! As soon as the slide of Girondo's "nourish the Glands" came up, I recognized it as the source of much later nutritional information that guided my eating and high-intensity output for years. (4 1/2 to 9 hours per day, sweating 4-5 pounds each time, I realized that need for full restoration of what we can expend.) Right now, I've been chasing the sensory and neurological basis behind another of Bookie here's postings - that on Frank Zane and his "Stay Hungry [Longer]" . As excited as when pursuing the absolute limits of our minds and bodies, I can't translate the neurology itself into language for you guys and gals who are too overwhelmingly focused on this pursuit of excellence and making your lives work to drop back into college for a few years to grasp what's been discovered. I am always playing catchup, just as I felt when testing supposed limits and trying to monitor interoception, and the complexity of physical art. But here's a sample for you to work with: We have nerves that innervate our muscles that tell our brains how much energy is being consumed, and what balances are being changed. Underline that in your mind to comprehend Zane's and YOUR OWN evaluatins, impuses, determination , work. YOU, your body KNOW[s} what you are doing, what you are expending, what the multiplicity of sensations we too often just lump as "pain" mean. This makes Zane's zenlike, daily hanblechia (vision quest) offhand observation help you to point your mind back to ATTENTION. Zane in his youtube interview, mentioned that he didn't waste time trying to think about what he chose but just FELT. My whole life {so far!} has been about the adventure of physical limits and mental processes- most of which can be classified as either social/interactive with others, or or very consciously attentive to reality - which we interpret, sometimes mistakenly. Zane illustrates a major point: THINKING is NOT VERBAL Attention - real thinking(!), smoothly aligns new incoming information with all the sensorimotor information you have ever perceived. While certain aspects of development must cease n us animals- we aren't redwood trees that keep on physically growing (that would be cancer in animals, anyway, so our genes both turn off , and/or turn to producing anabolic [and catabolic] materials to keep adapting ourselves to each new moment of life. Ever single roman chair situp in his 2 1/2 hour adventure into it, reported information essential to his journey into the unknown. each moment of your attention is equally brilliant, insight-filled, informational, magnificent.. Now, Some observations on the supplement list at about 4:00 in the vid here.. Kelp was long sold cheaply in bulk dried and ground up (every coastal Californian has seen the kelp harvesters, although we've lost many of the big essential beds where so many fish and other organisms grow). It can easily be mixed with such stuff as orange and other juices, tempering their acidity. Skip the capsules - you can ingest much more to advantage. Haven't seen it up here in the redwoods, but I also have just collected seaweed drifted in on the clean coast. Wheat germ and wheat germ oil must BOTH be FRESH. when you taste ANY bitterness, its oils have gone rancid and too foul.Search for consistent quality, and complain to the seller when any batch fails. The Germ is filled with protein. Nutritional yeast is of differing species, the B vitamins are essential for best brain, and therefore body energy function. Varieties have changed since the somewhat bitter time of the original "brewer's yeast.") which in quantity could deliver too much Niacin - which is neurotoxic in excess. Modern yeasts have reduced niacin content, and perhaps produce the nontoxic -Amide form, still useful to restore neural energy. They WON'T cause neural-damage itch or burn when taken in excess. That yeast , by the way has been heated to kill it, and differs from live baking or brewing yeast. Use it! It's truly restorative to your brain, energy, and attitude , which gets exhausted by effort, pain, and the necessary rebalances occurring in catabolic reaction to effort. You'll become quickly again cognitively eager, and fatigue of long intense workouts will vanish. You'll want to attack your limits again with natural joy (I'll speak of yeasts in nature another time, but we are adapted to it.) It also has high proportion of amino acids - but the quantities you ingest are negligible)you can get to classical era size and strength without doping. Yeast has been part of bodybuilding diets since at least the 1920s. Only organically produced livers are good and safe. They don't sell the livers of doctored commercial bovines any longer, because, as I posted elsewhere, the damaged and diseased livers of commercially produced antibiotic and anabolicgrowthhormone-jacked livestock look awful. As you remember, livers filter toxins from ingested foods, trying always to empty it back into your elimination and excretory systems. BUT, it ALSO stores fat-soluble vitamins (and never eat livers of apex predators - thy have collected toxic levels of A and D. Cows and us both produce an exactly similar molecule of Insulin-like Growth Factor1 (IGF-1, and probably -2. I haven;t checked on the latter. (for those who have indigenous NorthAmerican roots (Bookie didn't say, but he's probably Australian), the fresh raw liver was teh first thing cut from the cow buffalo/bison. hoisted in ecstasy and shared by the killer It has always been almost vital food. Asa scientist working with wolves, I can tell you that they, too, prize FIRST the liver and lungs. These are beings of cation to exhaustion and exuberance. Find a wild organic source to join us, and as Bookie says: "FIRST, HONOR THE LIFE THAT HAS BEEN GIVEN , THAT GAVE ITSELF, TO YOU." THIS is the origin of all sense of gratitude, the most basic loving emotion in us, from our beginnings. OK. SAME with organic glandular organs. Brains including the coveted HP,and Adrenal cortical on kidneys, have always been prized . Due to some prion disease, though, (I could go on technically about proteinaceous infectious particles, CJD, CWD, and their variants at book length, having been involved in dealing with this dangerous always fatal slow protein-flipping disease,. For health, always use well cooked brain-related products. You don't have the extreme stomach acids that protect the wolf and other carnivores, and though you may not produce your own structural proteins exactly like those of other animals, never play with the possibility of kuru, as they call one in New Guinea, or Mad Cow,or any possible zoonotic prion. Instead, REMEMBER that our bodies synthesize what we need from more basic constituents, except in the case of about 10 amino acids and the essential vitamins. We, and our agile gracile immensely strong forebears, lived in abundance of essential nutrients for tens to hundreds of millions of years. Some raw foods are not safe, due to the fecundity of life itself, always seeking new viable niches, just as you and I. I'd add garlic to the noticeably healthy ginseng (North American ginseng remains so prized the Chinese and Koreans, that they import our local boy. It's noticeably better than the east Asian species, to those sensitive to its effects) Kalo Kalo is an alternative spelling of what Hawaiians know as Taro (it's pronounced the same , with French Polynesians accepting this reduplicated variant spelling!) Root. Now, I'm a fan of its purple Poi, one-finger, two-finger, or thin three-finger Poi, from hard-charging teen years in Hawaii. But its' pretty much to my knowledge only cultivated by Polynesians, who originated as daring sailors in Taiwan or adjacent mainland China. It's mostly a good sweet somewhat low-glycemic-index carb. You can also choose yams or other slow-burning carb sources. Oats treat you well. I was an extreme fan of vitamin E, present also in wheat germ and WG oil. While research has not supported its restorative effectiveness, I remind you that none of the research was done on top-end energy users like you or me. We are far more physiologically sensitive than are the overfed sedentary. ( as analogy, look at their insulin resistance compared to intensely active individuals. That molecule is produced in quantity daily) It has some noticeable effects, such as correlation with SLIGHTLY higher blood pressure. What I found in those long peak exhaustion years , was that it seemed to substantially improve my recovery. Always highly critical of EVERYTHING, I experimented without bias,, ceasing its use for a month or more, and always gaining advantage. GO with it to keep anabolic. I learned at last, in part due to Bookie and my honoring and eating with love and gratitude, to choose free range eggs above all.Happy chickens and ducks making extra food and content with our protection against the local grey foxes and coyotes!. Eggs looking orange like those Venice/Muscle Beach sundowns of golden era yore, are filled with essentials, including the amino acid balance closest of all things (even meat!) to our own. Can't list the micronutrients in this way-too-long essay to you. Just leave some for the chix to raise, and you'll swim in the fierce harmony of life! I'd add several options of native fruits, nuts, and berries, to the list,as their presence and absence are strongly detectable in an aware diet. But your adventures are YOURS, and out of this list, Hope I helped anyone out there. He hetchitu yelo. - and to you all and your journeys, Aloha Kakou!

it makes a LOT of sense, since animal (well raised/wild) organs are the richest sources on EARTH of the fat-solubles vitamines (A, D3, K2, plus stuff like cholesterol and Omega3), who are the most important in our body, to absorb, utilize, transport and synthetize everything !! from hair to hormones,. ! it's just the most powerful principle of nutrition It is an ancient knowledge among every ethnics cultures, the most muscular + longest life + best facial development being the ones consumming the most of those vitamins sources. Alfalfa is a good herb it increases hunger noticeably, hence grehlin and is a hgh secretagouge similar to MK677. However ofcourse its not effective as later but has less chances to turn you diabetic. There is other stuff to boost your natural T levels, insulin levels and T3,T4 levels. These are effective but nothing like gear. But they are of course much safer.

Yet everyone worth a crap did these or other supplement schemes, even going back to before the 20th century they used protein powder. It's only the dumbest gearheads who say supps don't work at all. They just don't work as good as steroids obviously, but then steroids do not directly build any muscle whatsoever you have to train and ESPECIALLY you must have plenty of good nutrition something people today seem to have no grasp of. Cod liver has vitamin D. Prevented rickets back in the day. Given to children. Fish oil can be from garbage fish. Cod liver is preferred as it is from Cod.

Always a good idea not to ruin your balls with steroids. Actually optimizing your balls through nutrition sounds logical too. Wouldn’t eating cows testicles instead of liver supply a more appropiate amount of needed nutrients for that?

Agree, Great food too if someone goes pass the visual... But liver is still the richest one in Vitamin A (retinol), which is the most polyvalent vitamin in the body and involved in hormone precursion and gene expression... and also in K2 which is kind of the last mentionned but not least in term of importance. testicles (I think you are talking about beef ones "?) are still an amazing food, but I am not sure it makes it more valuable than liver .. maybe they are some nutrients interesting ? tell me.

Nowadays with science have we proven all of these are good to raise testosterone? For example alfalfa may be nutritious but it is high in phytoestrogens. How could that help in keeping testosterone high?

It's well-knowed, and those principles where applied by all indegenous cultures... Escpecially because glandulars and organes from well raised/wild animals are the richest food on earth of fat-solubles vitamins (A, D3, K2, and also things like omega 3 and cholestérol), which ARE hormone precursing. ;) Plus they are the most important one for all our body function, absorption, utilization and transport of everything, synthesis of hormones, cells regeneration and gene expression... So of course it helps ! But it would help for testesterone to reach natural limits, not go beyond them. Everybodt that follow a diet rich in easily bioavailaible fat solubes vitamins (+ all the others) can give a testimony of how it affect the mood, the energy, the sleep, the sex drive, the recovery.. ;)

Golden Era Bookworm certain ones I know would work like liver. But alfalfa, wheat germ, kelp, and yeast would be interesting to see the effects they would have on test levels and free test levels with today's science... love the vids though. Thank you for the posts.

Do you know what glands, or glandular supplements convert to when it exposed to stomach acid? Amino acids. It's not special after you dunk it in acid. And the B12 from Brewers yeast is an inactive analog of B12. So you would only get b12 from brewers yeast if you eat it twice. We are hind gut fermenters. There are all essential amino acids in alfalfa, but they are bound in the fiber so that we cannot access them. If you could they are in the wrong ratios, and could only be beneficial if combined with protien from actual food. There are alot of problems with these prescribed supplements. This has got to be Vince Gironda's dark side.

While Vince G. was ahead of his time, he was also just another hypocrite. Some good things he advocated were taking bromelain to aid digestion, as well as using eggs as an all-around anabolic food. However, all his big boys were taking steroids. Gironda said he was always vehemently against taking 'roids, but Larry Scott used Dianabol, as did Don Howarth and other big names who went to his gym. Granted, those guys trained very hard and, generally speaking, ate right, and my guess is that they didn't abuse steroids...but they still took them. Had they not taken steroids, would they have looked as good or nearly as good? Highly unlikely. At the end of the day, Gironda was just another shill-meister. The difference was that he was a knowledgeable trainer and pushed nutrition farther than anyone else around at that time. Oh, and Irvin Johnson was a huge believer in astrology, which caused him to change his name and start his supplement business. People thought his milk-and-egg formula was the secret to getting big...not without juicing. #sorrynotsorry.

As you get older your testosterone levels plummet even as early as 30 years old. For any of this to work naturally you have to have a sustained high level of natural hormone production...good luck with that unless you are 20 years old. Not that Vinces ideas about training and nutrition are wrong. But training stimulus and diet are highly individual. Hence, you have to see what works for you.
