Once when I was at my grandparents' house, I was unwrapping a bunch of these things into a little dixie cup in their garage. I think it was about half full when the whole thing suddenly exploded, loud enough to cause a short-lasting ringing in my ears and my grandfather to rush out and see if everything was alright. To this day, I don't know exactly why they detonated. My only guess was that the weight of the grains was somehow enough to start the reaction.
@literallyunfunny8 жыл бұрын
***** Eyy, I was like 10. And it wasn't destructive so much as it was loud. I seem to recall that the paper cup was still mostly intact. Fortunately, the experience was frightening enough that I wouldn't ever consider trying it again.
@tujiongyhrd8 жыл бұрын
same happened to me, put all the gravel in a big pile and it went bang. Made me jump and my ears were ringing
@saberur668 жыл бұрын
it would seem that the paper is warpped to reduce the affect of going off on its own. now if you unwrap them, they isnt anything to stop/prevent the reaction from happening.
@nuthying31568 жыл бұрын
The paper is there to hold them together. It should actually increase its ability to react.
@ajbfwb8 жыл бұрын
Same thing happened to me as a kid. I was emptying several of them onto a napkin in an attempt to make a jumbo popper. Eventually, the impact of the gravel simply falling onto the existing pile was enough to set the whole thing off which, as others have mentioned, will keep one from entertaining that idea ever again.

80 micrograms of silver fulminate (AgCNO). Relative atomic mass of Ag: 107.8682, relative atomic mass of C: 12.011, relative atomic mass of N: 14.007, relative atomic mass of O:15.999. Molecular mass of AgCNO: 149.8852gmol^-1. Percentage mass of Ag in AgCNO: 107.8682/149.8852 = 72% 72% of 80 micrograms is 57 micrograms. You can expect some loss from the explosion too, so about 50 micrograms is a fair estimate.

Fun fact for you to try! An average longsword has a finished weight of around 1.5 kg - but typically generates an additional 0.75 kg of waste. That means we'll need 2.25 kg of workable iron to make the sword. 2,250 grams of workable iron, factoring for the ratio of impurities, means we'll need 9,407.25 grams of raw material - of blood - to start. At 4 grams *per person*, you'd need at least *2,352* completely drained "donors" to make a iron longsword out of blood. Or, in _freedom_ units: An average longsword has a finished weight of around 3 pounds, 5 ounces (3.3 lb) - but typically generates an additional 1 pound, 10.5 ounces (1.65lb), of waste. That means we'll need 4 pounds, 15.3 ounces (4.96lb), of workable iron to make the sword. 4 pounds, 15.3 ounces (4.96) of workable iron, factoring for the ratio of impurities, means we'll need 20 pounds, 11.83 ounces (20.74lb) of raw material - of blood - to start. At 0.1411 ounces (0.0088lb) *per person*, you'd need at least *2,352* completely drained "donors" to make a iron longsword out of blood. ... ... ... Man, your system is shite, like, seriously, what in the actual fuck.

When my cousin was little he put hundreds of pop its in a piece of paper and twisted it to make a giant pop it. One night he was in his room and he was twisting the top to make it look more like a pop it and it blew up. My uncle said he heard a big "boom", and my cousin said the pop it rocks flew all over the room. His hands and face were black as well. Haha, good times

do you need a special filter on your camera when you use the laser to protect the sensor?
@theCodyReeder8 жыл бұрын
probably but I saved it for my eyes.
@nickschiener14928 жыл бұрын
***** ok. Yeah your eyes are more important than a camera
@aepceo18 жыл бұрын
The camera won't be affected by the laser unless it's shined directly into it. All cameras have something called a UV/IR cut filter - this protects the camera's sensor.
