when I was a kid, I took around 3 bags of pop its and opened them to get the silver fulminate, then I took a coffee filter and cut it into the shape of a pop it wrapper, put all of the silver fulminate on it, and tied it up. Once when I was at my grandparents' house, I was unwrapping a bunch of these things into a little dixie cup in their garage. I think it was about half full when the whole thing suddenly exploded, loud enough to cause a short-lasting ringing in my ears and my grandfather to rush out and see if everything was alright. Same thing happened to me as a kid. I was emptying several of them onto a napkin in an attempt to make a jumbo popper. The camera won't be affected by the laser unless it's shined directly into it. All cameras have something called a UV/IR cut filter - this protects the camera's sensor.
