Usually the older videos despite poor quality do a good job I'm so happy to find a more recent video which does the same job Thank you. You made online learning that bit easier

Awesome video! Quick note: At 5:24 you may have misspoke, you said there was no "chemical reaction" when I think you meant to say there was no "precipitate". Hope this comment helps!

Is there a way to prevent or counter precipitation?
@ayuandani4532 Жыл бұрын
Sir may i ask you a question for my thesis. Why magnesium sulphate heptahydrate causing white precipitation does look like a gel/cloud and sometimes crystalline when it dissolved in 30%w/w of ethanol solution? So that salt is very poor for induce aquous two phase separation layer between ethanol and water. There is a limit literature about that :(. Thank you

Yeah, it might have been a tad more dramatic to add drops of copper sulfate to see precipitate form in a beaker of clear sodium hydroxide.

U said coppers’ colour is blue, I sent it green, I learnt it from the flame test….
@Anglesandacid Жыл бұрын
That's true! Copper can be more than one colour depending on the form it is in. Think about iron; it can appear black, grey, or even shiny in its pure form depending on the level of polish it has. When it reacts with oxygen and water, it forms iron (III) oxide which is red. In solution, copper is often a nice blue colour, but when excited directly with a flame you will see a green colour. Copper corrodes to make a green patina (like European copper roofs, or the Statue of Liberty in America).
