None of the PuyoTet characters ever belonged to The Tetris Company. The only reason the SS Tetra Crew only have collab units in Quest is because writing them without making things awkward often requires mentioning the concept of Tetris, which they're not allowed to do without the consent of The Tetris Company. However, since Marle's and Squares' entire lore doesn't revolve around the concept of Tetris, they're safe to use.

Am I right in that I heard that SEGA are dropping the Numbered Puyo title formula? Because if so then the fact that the lyrics list off Puyo 1-7 _could_ imply that they're going back on that, aka Puyo 8 has been planned
