WOOOW! I’m super surprised! That has to be the best Precision Power amp built in decades. And I’m not a new school PP fan at all. Korean made, less than a buck a watt and it’s built like a little tank. You can’t beat that. Only time can speak for its reliability but the gut shot speaks volumes about how well it’s built. I’d buy it and that says a lot. I’m not a budget Audio guy at all.

I'm running a A1000.5D and love it. I was running A1000.4 and A900.1 together then decided to upgrade. I'm seriously considering getting one of these to run my subs while running some transducers on the A1000.5D sub channels. I have them running in a pedicab and they do well in the elements. They are in a unsealed storage area under the seat. Where it gets moisture when it rains.

So I ordered one and got it 2 days ago. I got 1200watts at 13.6v 114a making it just about 80% efficiency, NOT BAD AT ALL. Wish it was 90% efficiency so it wouldn’t get so warm (reached 160f after 10 minutes of sine waves).

Sweet!! Its amazing for the price. Next get 1 more strap them together and try .5 ohms strapped that's .25 ohms per amp. I used to have 2 Hifonics amps that were nice and I had them wired to .50 ohms strapped. Now I'm not sure if they can handle half ohms strapped on a constant certified amp dyno but it would make a very nice vid.
@ranchosdelnorte Жыл бұрын
In the end you get 10w per dollar which is pretty solid. It is the same price and power as Precision Power's SPL30001 but that one is more cheaply made with regular rca's instead of tiffany style and spade type power inputs. I had some hopes for Soundstream's Reserve series(the full sizes ones, not the micro or digital), but now that they've been out a while their reviews seem to be not so hot.

Wish they would rate the amps properly if they rated it as a 1200 watt Korean amp for 128 bucks it will fly off the shelf they don't have to hype it up
@jeanious2009 Жыл бұрын
They should keep it real and rate it at 600 watts at 1ohm, once people test it and get 1200 they’ll be shocked. More shocked than missing 600watts if you ask me. So 150 at 4, 300 at 2 and 600 at 1 ohm would be perfect numbers for this amp.

Great videos brother as always. Had a question for you that I needed help with. It's about amplifier power matching to speakers. Why when Dyno testing amps with sine waves we get the rated power usually but when testing music, we get about like Half the rated power. Should we then buy an amplifier that is double the power for the speakers to get the most from them? Eg. Dyno on amp sine wave 1khz 500 rms. Midrange speaker is 500rms continuous. But when playing music, the amp fluctuates around 200 to 250 rms music power. So should I get an amp that is like 1000rms so the music power will be around the 500rms continuous for the speakers ? Thanks for any feedback.
@HiFiVector Жыл бұрын
With full range speakers like door speakers it’s not really needed as impedance rise is a lot less than a subwoofer. So with front speakers it’s fine just to match the rating. With a subwoofer impedance rise is a big factor so if you are looking at maximizing your subs performance and give it all the power it is capable of handling usually it is a good idea to go approximately 30 to 40 percent more on amp power. But the amount of impedance or box rise depends on the subwoofer and box design as a whole. Some setups have worse impedance rise than others and some less.

Why would you want a mono amp? Bass is recorded in stereo.
@TheGodofSEO Жыл бұрын
Stereo imaging does no good on sub frequencies. Stereo imaging below around 100hz functions the same as interference, and the human ear cant distinguish the direction of a sub frequency. Think about why people like bass - it feels like its all around you, no matter where its coming from. In short, panning it just makes one of your ears rumbly and the other not rumbly. Also, trying to stereo image a bass is like putting it out of phase with itself, creating interference patterns that sound awful in most musical contexts.
@txddyfarquh69 Жыл бұрын
Recorded in stereo if it's duplicated and each recordings panned hard left and right for wider imaging but I know in 99.99999% of hiphop type songs it's in mono
