I ran mtx all through the 90s. Sad to see them not in the game with the big boys these days.

Agreed, back then 2 mtx12s on a monoblock was no slouch. I remember we had a set of the cheap road thunders or whatever and upgraded to the thunder6000s they hit.

I've had this amp now for several years. Pushing a single Alpine 12" Type R (rated at 600w). I never run my amps at 1ohm. But I figured there was no way it was pushing out 900W @ 4ohms. Still 750W isn't bad. Never gets hot. Decent for a sub $150 amp although not the same PPI I had in the 90's! Adjusted for inflation, I probably paid $1500 for a 800w art series amp. Still have 2 old school ppi amps laying around just to have them :)

I'm looking at at a ppi a 600.2 that's been on my wall for over 25yrs, but in 06,07 I bought the ice series the rosewood color one with two 30amp fuses and it lasted 6 month's, one day just started blowing one of the fuses. If it doesn't say made in the USA, throw away

I had the 1300.1 version of this amp it literally lasted one song before it stopped outputting sound properly. If you had your head foot from subs could barley hear it. I opened it up couldn’t see anything loose burnt nothing looked great. Sold it as is pretty much got what I paid for it so it wasn’t a total loss.

Same happened to me with a JBL GTR-1001. Sound went to nothing. Never went into protect.

I have seen the bigger amp ran at .5 and put out decent power. I think budget gem or bust channel did a dyno on the 7000.1.

Precision Power and Power Acoustik are owned by the same company right?

I think so, and this amp might be the same as that Power Acoustik Overdrive amp that I tested recently.

Run the test again with the bass knob. Mine puts out more output when the bass knob is connected for some reason.

On any amp that I’ve ever tried, having the bass knob unplugged was the same as having it plugged in and turned all the way up. I didn’t try that with this amp. I already sold it.

I'd like to know your thoughts on me pairing this with one American Bass XR12 1200rms?

It would be a pretty good matchup. Just make sure that you’re able to wire that sub to 1 ohm.

Those sticker’s mean absolutely nothing. They are used by manufacturers to not honor their warranties and have an easy bs reason to trick the customers who are not aware of the law. Any product with those stickers are the same way computers etc. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act enacted in 1975 is the law that makes it so you can open your property and inspect, look at it etc. As long as you don’t cause damage or try to change anything while inside of your electronics then you are covered. If you are worried just video yourself opening it so you can prove nothing was touched but it doesn’t really matter if you short it out sticking something in there the damage is obvious and looks different then when it has normally occurring damage.

@@stereomojo no problem. This is also why we can do our own oil changes and other work on vehicles or work on anything we own pretty much using whatever brand filters or repair products etc as long as they are proper parts for use case. I suppose without it we wouldn’t have all the different brands to choose from and prices would be much higher for parts and labor. Thank the greedy auto manufacturers cause they were trying to not honor warranties unless all work was done with their parts and by their mechanics at dealerships. Kinda makes me all warm and fuzzy inside knowing they screwed themselves🤣
