Day 1 Sparring: Got my ass kicked
@steve65484 жыл бұрын
YES!! Thank You! I need more practice sparring. I am a beginner, but have been following your channel for about a year. I did not start boxing until I was about 52. But, I have worked manual labor all my life, and I can really throw some shots. I sparred three rounds with a guy a few months ago, who had 10 professional fights, and he really clobbered me. He picked through all my defenses, and countered all my offenses. Your videos help my footwork and defense.

What a humbling experience this was. Starting to feel confident in my boxing ability, although I've only been throwing combos at dust in my room or on a bag that can't hit back. I was lucky if I blocked any of the overhands or hooks, you'd have run me over in sparring. This was important, I need to work on my defence!

This is the best virtual sparring I've found on KZbin. Thanks👊. I'd like to see a sparring video where.. 1. You are being evasive 2. Lightning round, your just letting your hands go and we have to see, punch and counter 3. Where you work on faking us out before throwing. I loved those uppercuts, most videos are just head shots. I had to watch myself even when I got low for you.

Very new to the game always loved boxing and decided to start at 36yo - 8 months of training and C19 struck putting a lot of what you can do in boxing to a halt so this is a godsend. I’ve maybe done forty rounds sparring total and nobody I sparred against threw combos or moved their head like this thank god 😂😂 I reckon I slipped one punch out of all four rounds then just got bashed up for the rest. Gonna keep trying though I’ve had too long out.

Thank you for this excellent virtual sparring video, Coach Jay Van. It’s my honest opinion, but for us boxers, especially with the COVID19 still causing our gyms to be temporarily closed, training in our garages, running (roadwork), and Precision Striking videos are our best training tools- even when we are able to get back to our gyms. It’s also my opinion, shadow boxing is always the foundation of the boxer’s training. We must do this a lot. If you are able to do another virtual sparring video (10 rounds with more southpaw and pressure fighting- like rounds 3& 4) and/or a shadow boxing video (like the 4 rounder you did) that would be awesome. Sincerely, Jeff “Rattlesnake” Railey 5X Champion Masters Amateur Boxer
