Predator 2 is a sequel that was done right. Does it have flaws? Sure, but it also respected what came before in the original, expanded on the lore and weapons of the Predator just enough, we saw a lot more of the Predator, Kevin Peter Hall (RIP) played City Hunter differently from Jungle Hunter to give him his own distinction, great cast, very well done action scenes, awesome setting having it take place in the city, cool take having it be a detective story, etc. It wasn't just a retread of the original and expanded on and or changed on the important aspects to make it just that. Director Stephen Hopkins did a very solid job with it, especially when you take into account he had to work on Nightmare On Elm Street 5 The Dream Child (during a writer's strike mind you) and Predator 2 at the same time for a certain amount of time which is insane. While the original is still tops (for me personally) Predator 2 is awesome and is still the best sequel in the franchise.

Predator 2 is on my top 10 movie list. It’s one of my favourite movies. When I rank the alien and predator movies, predator 2 is number 3 for me, even above alien for entertainment alone. The city hunter has my favourite costume design of all time with the vibrant reds and bronze mask. I never get bored of this movie. It’s fun. Danny glover was a good lead if Schwarzenegger wasn’t coming back. But bill paxton (like aliens) stole the scene for me. Also predator has my second favourite soundtrack under Batman 1989.

Couldn’t agree with you more about the city hunter’s design! Like we talk about in the video, Stan Winston really outdid himself with the changes/additions he made from the first film. Also agree about Bill Paxton, he made every movie he was in better.

Everyone talks about Kevin Peter hall as the predator, nobody talks about boladji Badajo as the big chap alien from alien. Their was something unique about his performance in the film, and I think his slender frame made the creature unique. As much as I love other Xenos, boladjis is still the best to me due to the performance and physique.

I like the moment in predator 2 where he goes King Kong with the spear. I also like the penthouse massacre.

Predator 2 was always going to be underrated because of how amazing part 1 was. Predator is widely considered one of the greatest action movies of all time. Comparing part 2 to the original is like comparing any of Michael Jackson's album after Thriller, no matter how good they were, they were never going to be better than Thriller.

I actually saw Predator 2 before Predator. So I'm not attached to the original. Although I admit it set the foundation for expanding the Yautja lore. I believe the sequel did the right thing by changing the setting. If you enjoy it for what it is, it really does hold up as a worthy sequel in my opinion.

It absolutely is a worthy sequel. Aside from the solid ensemble cast, solid direction and creature design they expanded on the lore and mythology and took it in a direction that really opened the audience’s imagination even further about these aliens. Shame we never got a proper Predator 3
