It's amazing how "diverse" 90s movies were. No quotas, no ultimatums. Just pure talent.
@yucol5661
@yucol5661 29 күн бұрын
It was intentional tough, even in the 90s, this was not just talent. They were called very nasty names for choosing to show such a diverse future. Look at how star trek had to go the extra mile to make a diverse cast against criticism. People back then were even more racist. Artists and directors have been trying to do better and help society through using diverse actors for decades, and people raged about it and hated them for being “woke” and their older equivalents for decades. We just forget about all that and only remember some snippets of the past. We remember hippies but we forget the larger conservative backlash. We remember suffrage but forget women’s oppression. We remember the emancipation proclamation more than the failure of reconstruction. It’s just easier to understand if you simplify and flatten history
@wikipediaintellectual7088

Or did they just figure that they had what they came for and as a kid no one would believe him anyway if he went blabbing about what he saw? Or did the priest swear/persuade/bribe him and the other kids to secrecy never to speak about what happened? This is one of my all time favorite movies in visuals, story, acting, soundtrack. Fantastic sci-fi movie. The range of characters and storyline is brilliant. Such a shame so many films think ‘woke’ first and entertainment second these days.

Making of a woman the Supreme Being that saves the world, and love the power that effects that salvation, is pretty woke. Otherwise, Bruce Willis would have saved the world by himself.

@@MariaMartinez-researchershe's not exactly a woman, but alien species dna. There was no woke shit these days and there's no point in looking for it.
