I always wanted one of these hand crank starters for my old 1982 honda atc 185s 3 wheeler, but they dont exist I dont think. Not cause it's hard to start but just cause I like it. Makes me think of an old tractor or model T. Super cool mod/upgrade 😎 If anyone finds a hand crank starts for old honda 3 wheelers let me know

I have been using for a while now and it is still working good. Usually takes wind ups or 2 tries if the bike has been sitting awhile

It looks cheesy on ebay but in real life the quality is nice. Like heavy nylon type plastic. It does not come with that yellow metal cover.

That is actually where it shines. After putting the 10 thousandths head gasket on I was breaking ropes like crazy. It was scarry to start

I have no resistance while winding mine. I think I accidently turned it a few times the wrong way and now it feels like something slipped inside. Any ideas what's wrong?

Oh man. I have no idea. I wonder if it winds up like a regular pull starter? Those are a pain also.

It uses a clockspring which is probably unhooked on one end or broken only way to know for sure is to pull it apart... If broken order a new one as it isn't worth the time trying to get the clockspring rewound into the starter housing

@philip4x4guy yes, but I honestly don't use it that much. I got it cause ai broke my wrist. Thinking of going back to a pull start and putting in a thicker head gasket. It hurts to start. LOL

@hgfl4532 I think so. All those lawnmower engines take the same starter cover thing. The preditor 212 and 196cc are the same.
