I use an 18v drill pack battery with an adapter plate feeding thru my starter relay, the starter relay is actually operated by my accessory AGM 12v battery. I love how well 18v drill packs spin these and a replacement starter is like $10. This is nice because it allows me a "limp mode" where I just short the relay to use the 18v to start; or if I forget to charge my 18v battery and I don't have my spare I can route the 12v battery directly to the starter replay with a couple wire changes. If my fuel pump loop is unpowred for whatever reason it can still gravity feed the carb directly from the return fuel line. (I'm using a MVP scoot so my tank is above my QMB engine) Thanks for showing how to tear into one of these starters, I might need this if I keep torturing mine.

When it comes to replacing the battery cables a lot of people like to use large gauge wire for hooking up car amplifiers since they run a lot of amps. I'll eventually do that to mine when needed but I'll probably replace the wire fittings with gold plated fittings to help with corrosion in the process. I always find it stupid how even high-end brands use steel fittings on their machines. Steel isn't the best choice for something that sits outside all of the time. I'd like to eventually relocate the battery on mine because it's in the floorboard and it's only big enough to hold a standard YTX7.

😭good ol "you need to adjust your valves"

Ikr... the catch all answer that honestly does not matter. There are a million GY6s running the streets of Beijing right now without ever getting a valve adjustment.

Awesome video!! Has me inspired to make some videos of my XR150L. I put a custom undertail exhaust on it if you want to check it out sometime on my channel; I’d really appreciate it. Cheers!

If there are some that cost a 1000$ then that should tell you something. Don't compare maddog money to that. Lol
