Hey guys FatBuddyCat here! Today we are working on the bottom end of a Predator 224. This includes all the clearance work for a billet rod and the installation of a cam and flywheel.

It helps get the honey back down into the pot when running vents and redistribute pressure. I run vented side covers because when you plug the governor hole on top of the block, you are essentially removing the factory vent....the governor arm is not sealed from the factory, sometimes on stock engines you find oil/dirt on tops of the block, that oil is being carried by the air pressure that escapes around the governor shaft.

You don't want to drill that hole out it is sized to fill that center chamber with oil and flood over to lude the cam tappits and excess oil will drain back to the sump if you drill it the cam tappits might not get enough oil. There was some thought put in that hole size!!!

I build a lot of engines. 😆 sometimes I take them apart and build other engines out of them after they are already built.

Yeah i seen this crazy kid on here grinding with the bearing exposed ya get a plastic bag the oil will act as a glue and u put the bag like a genius would or cut u some carboard oh yea u just did it lol good stuff

I've ground things with the crank in before because my inch pound torque wrench busted. Not recommended but it is possible. Engine ran fine afterwards. Protecting the bearings and cleaning is key.

What would u pick a tilly stage 2 or 212 of course or the stage one wildcat 223 for the rsv frame

Electric start would be nice on the RSV. It's not much of a performer, it's more of a high class utility bike.

This is the same exact engine that I built but I had a 265 cam and not the 275 that comes already cut.I ended up putting a stock cam back on because the 265 got damaged.I need to order a new rubber gasket that you got from OMB for the side cover I have.Where can I order just the small little round caps that go on the aluminum spring retainers?I lost a cap.I can’t wait to see how your engine sounds.Did you get the rockers?

I think I'm gonna try some rollers on this one and jack the lift up some more. Are you talking the caps for the stainless valves with the billet retainers?

If they resleeve the cylinder it could work but at that point I'd just buy a 236 or whatever.

The hardest part of this build is unraveling the plastic off the cam😂.I’m about halfway through the video.

After u took the bolts use the ratchet to loosen them never go back to loosen them with the torque wrench piston with the error facing down CHEAT CODE this guy is great man with the info right holy phuuuuck 💪🏼💯💨💨💨💨 we good now Basically Profesionals

Would that small hole if it held back oil would it not flood out through the lifter holes lubricating the those tapes and cam

Quick question, So I know that the predator 224 and 212 are both 70mm bores but, does the 224 have a taller deck or are they the same deck height?

Looks like they did a nice job with the three areas of concern on the 224 specific cams making it much easier for the builder. They have a lot of low end torque. For me, my 196 bike is just as fun and easier to ride than the 224 bike. I don't have to be as careful with the throttle. 196 power works well for how I ride. I didn't like the 224 blower housing and long starter cup so I used the Hisun 196 parts.

I might be changing that on mine as well! It depends which carb I end up running and if i use a linkage. I've never gone over a 265 cam, we are likely gonna take it even further than that and really do some stuff I've never done before!!

The cams feel good. I ordered both a cl2 for 196 and a 224. It's really cool to see the difference between them, I'll probably make a short video of those.

@@fatbuddycat That should be very cool. The nice thing about the CL cams is you can get your stock springs back into action. Want 7K RPM? Then get a CL4. Want a basic 5800 RPM and under build? Then get the CL1 original. I had one builder telling me about all the 265 and under cams he tested. Most of his comments were negative and called the 252 cam I used "lazy". He's an Isky cam guy. But he said of all the cams he tested he was most impressed by the CL series cams. A few months ago I did a basic build on a Hisun 196. That one got a Superman 265 cam from Dover power.

@@fatbuddycat I used ec carburetors 1.3 rev rockers they are pretty nice. Took my .265 lift cam to .344.
