Plot : Set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, “Prey” is the story of a young woman, Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. I remember 1987, and the day Predator was released. I was 14, so couldn’t get in to see it, but my older brother went. When he came home, he described something that seemed unbelievable to me. It completely changed action movies forever. The story is reverting, and it also captures Arnie at his peak! Add the other great performances from Ventura and Weathers and its a groundbreaker. The original is still one of the greatest movies ever made. The second film is greatly underrated. Watched Prey last night, and also loved it. With all the super hero franchise movies around, I still think these films are the best. If they developed the Predator ‘world’ further, to explore their culture and history, I’d be hooked even more. They could make a film every year, and it wouldn’t be enough for me!😂

This just came out of nowhere and goddamn it blew me away!! My Dad was an 80s teen and so the original is a longtime family favorite, this one is up there toe to toe, my old man was like a kid again watching this, and so was I. Re-watching this trailer nothing takes away from the movie at all. Great plot, good music score, great scenery, awesome action , and a few good nods to the first two movies. If you're a Predator franchise fan this one should not disappoint!!!!

I think it would be cool to see just how much the predator tech has evolved, since this movie is supposed to take place in the early 1700s. I mean the premise is that predators hunt, so they can adapt & become better hunters. Therefore, the predator in this movie has to be comparatively more primitive to the ones we're used to. I hope

@@shaman9934 yeah, but I mean in "Predators" Laurence Fishburne's character said that every season when they come back that their weapons might change.. or their armor.. or their tactics.. This movie takes place over 300 years ago. I'm sure they're still well beyond man in terms of technology, but there is a lot of stuff they haven't seen yet in this specific time period. He also said that when we manage to kill one that they love that, because it means they have a flaw in their "ultimate hunter" goal.

If you want to see how much it has evolved read the Predator comics, they go through some of the predator orgins also predators can have a life span of 300+ years. This is proven in the 1990 predator movie since in the movie the predator overseer was the same predator from the comic that took place in 1775 I forgot the name of the comic

People who complain about the female lead are just tired of how people try to make everything a female lead now. They wanna say oh she couldn't take on a predator. They forget about AvP had lead female who killed an alien queen with her ingenuity and even in the battles with male leads they only won by out smarting the predator never physically. Everyone loved AvP should have no problem with this. I also think the abuse of the halo series has people scared of anything new.

Just today watched this movie. Excellent movie. Totally enjoyed it. Full of action. Complete slaughter movie. All action scenes are mind blowing, especially second half. If you are predator movie fan like me, its complete entertaining movie. Very good acting by all actors. And stop comparing one predator movie with other predator movies. I just watched it. Dug the stone age vs high tech alien aspect. The Indians all talked like they were from 2022 California "I got this." All the usual tired predictable tropes can be found: 5 foot tall 100 lb woman can beat up a handful of tough as nails French trappers with ease. All Europeans are brutish cartoon thugs. Any male warrior who doubts her is insta-killed by a mountain lion or whatever as soon as he says the offending sentence. Her brother tells her she was always better than him. Total pandering. It could have been a good movie but ultimately ruined by SJW propaganda.

I didn't expect much, honestly, but I quickly got into it and could not stop watching. Good story, good action and good acting. As a bonus, the Comanche language sounds really lovely.

As an avid Syfy and Predator fan… this movie was AWESOME! A much better film than The Predator! I really really liked this movie. The action scenes were great and OH BOY (I don’t wanna spoil it fully) BUT THE GUN AT THE END UGHH. That made the whole movie for me! I thought it was a great call back and I think opens up a whole new path for the franchise! Super excited for what’s to come! If you know then YOU KNOW what I’m talking about with the gun lol. @Bob you see several times in the trailer it uncloaks and engages in hand to hand with the tribe and colonists. From what we saw they are not using plasma caster, laser trip mines, hand casters, or any of their incindiary weapons. Thats as fair as we will get and as honorable as well will get from them. Think of it this way, we hunt using fire arms against animals that literally only have their bodies. If the predator lore and cannon were like that humans would never win...ever. this is more like bow hunting for them.

@@rafaelramoscardona3108 facts, like even though there is some debate, AvP gave the possibility of them having those weapons for MILLENNIA, the clan in the flashbacks has them, and they are in the temple vault present time for the unblooded to retrieve as part of their trial to being blooded. Now, with the ones in the vault i concede it is entirely possible that they were placed there by the elders present day but the movie made that seem unlikely. So yeh this one could have probably murked the whole tribe, easy.

Arnold beat the pred last minute with a lucky trap prior to getting his ass wooped on a fist fight. But hey as long as this "strong" female warrior that weighs 120 at best and would be dead if it wasn't for the pred in the first 10 minutes of the movie,fights with arrows and stone tomahawks, everything will be ok.

I just got back from watching this at a private screening here in Oklahoma City. People from the Comanche Nation of Oklahoma were present and so were the two leads actors. I'm Seminole and Creek and lived in Oklahoma my entire life. This movie was do with so much care and compassion for the Native representation. I know the word representation can be triggering, but I'm using the term for what it really means. This is not a woke film. This is not a terrible film. This is a very good film. I consider it to be the best Predator movie since the original. All I'll say is that I hope everyone gives it a chance. It really is that good. I would put it beside other films like Dredd where they were so good but sadly didn't get the attention they deserved. This is going to HuLu and ist because of studio politics and also the negative reactions to the last film in the franchise. That sucks but I came away from this knowing that I just watched a real film. A very well made, well written, well cast, well directed movie. Also I strongly recommend that you watch it in Comanche. They said that you have the option to choose either English or Comanche. They filmed it in English but also added a Comanche dub. It's not perfect on the mouth movements like most dubbed films, but it really makes a huge difference. Give it a chance.

@@nightshadeii9248 well first off, they had shot the predator in the leg, the jungle predator was a new blood armed only with a plasma caster, its wrist gauntlets and active camo. This predator looks like it is more of a veteran predator, and has more weapons to use against the tribal technology, which is so far removed from the tech of the 1900’s. The tribal natives have basic knowledge of traps for hunting, not killing another sentient being. In a straight up fight no human wins, as seen by the fact that Billy in the first movie died fighting in hand to hand combat with the predator. Dutch almost dies, and only gets lucky with his trap hitting the predator. And also, many of the traps he uses have GUNPOWDER. It’s the explosives that actually damage the predator enough to be taken down with the log, only for the predator to then use a bomb built into his gear to try to kill everything around it. Dutch only recognizes this as a bomb due to the fact that he knows what a bomb is. The natives would definitely not know what a bomb is, and without the gunpowder it is highly unlikely that they would ever even scratch the predator, let alone cause the predator to use its suicide bomb.

@@zandrmandr8300 1. The shot to the Predators leg was for plot development only, we never see the injury again nor do we see it proving to be any significant problem to the Predator. 2. Dutch only has two weapons with gunpowder: 1 arrow and 1 spear. The arrow bomb damages the Predators cloaking ability, that’s it. The spear bomb is used to flush it out of hiding. The damage the Predator takes is minimal, because right after that we see it completely whoop Dutch’s ass bare handed. With no problems. Dutch is only able to beat it with the same sticks, stones, and primitive skills that Native people have used for thousands of years.

Luck and Plot armor are any movie characters strong point from Ellen to Dutch.

I'll admit the beginning was the weakest part of the movie, but nothing about this was woke. Just because it's a female lead doesn't make it woke. It's the story of a young Comanche women overcoming doubt and proving to herself and tribe that she's more than what she seems. Now if I replaced that with a weak feable white man, would you still cry woke? I recommend actually finishing the movie, it's an awesome watch and her character was built well
