For a student project, I'd say it deserves the awards. But I wasn't really all that scared of the monster design, it never built up a creepy atmosphere for me either. Maybe the flashlight brightness played into that, it was a bit much for my senses and made me feel safe from the darkness. I wish the students well in their career's though, they can only get better the more projects they work on and this was a great start.

This is nothing groundbreaking per se, but as a student project this is quite impressive! I liked the puzzles and the mutating creature, and it has a decent runtime without overstaying its welcome. And your commentary was on point, as always :)

This one got better as time went on. The puzzles were neat, and the ending was soo tense! That alien really could sissy that walk. I am a little bummed we don't know if survivor guy got saved, or what happened to the alien after it tried to leave with you, but over all, very cool game, especially for a student project!

Quite good for a student project. Blood is a bit overused, more delicate use of it would have made it more creepy. Maybe more blood further in the levels. I do like the evolving creature when advancing. That really gives a danger vibe. Well done devs, for a project like this. Looks good and fun. CJU playing it also makes it hilarious with his comments on the creature 🤣😏🤗

I'm not sure how impressed to be with this. It's solid overall, but how much of it was created by the students themselves? If they created all of those assets themselves, then this is seriously impressive. I do want to give special props to the music/ambient sound design, though. Some of that is really good at building an atmosphere.

I thought it was good with plenty of tension. Done as a student game competition? Nicely done! It seems to borrow a few ideas from the movie Alien. In Alien, the creature kills and mutates. At the end, the escape module was adrift in deep space. The Alien hitched a ride, but ultimately was burned off.

A couple things first.. will you be playing RE8: Shadow of Rose (Winters’ Expansion) as it is being released tomorrow? And, seconding those asking if you’ll consider playing at least for the good ending in Stay Out of the House? CJU: “I’m afraid they sent me. Sorry about that. I’ll do the best I can.” Me: In a situation like this, I would want you on my team! You’ve proven yourself time and again in these games. Well done to the students. Pretty cool, very tense game, with an cool looking enemy. I liked the puzzles, and that blue, red, and yellow door one seemed like a bit of a pain with grumpy running around. Thanks for this evening’s entertainment.

Definitely not a bad game, but award worthy is a bit of a stretch. The environment looked good, altho a bit too much chrome, imo. Animations were a bit janky and the monster design didn't really look right. The different evolutions looked too different, and the style didn't really match up between them. They just looked like 3 completely different monsters, not the same one evolving. The AI was pretty good, tho. The lack of a crouch mechanic in a stealth horror game was weird, imo. The flashlight seemingly having no effect could have worked, but there should have been some kind of explanation, like "The creature is blind, so I don't have to worry about turning the flashlight off". Story could have used some more work. The puzzles were ok, but as far as gameplay goes, it was pretty barebones. For a student project, it's pretty good! Idk what awards it could have won, tho. Maybe school awards or something?

@diegoaespitia2 жыл бұрын
i can see it perhaps winning awards at whatever university they go to, this is quite the lengthy game tbh. but its not award worthy for anything else. the animations were really bad, i could see the monster running in place for some parts, probably because they didnt set an idle animation. the evolve function of the monster didnt....do anything. he wasnt any faster, any smarter, he just looked different. its a good game though for sure, making games isnt easy and takes a lot of time so they deserve credit. but the game definitely needs more work

Calling something "award-winning" can be a really arbitrary advertising technique lol, my brother used to work for a company that did award ceremonies in New York and there's not any kind of standard for what an award is, who decides to give the award, and why someone has been given an award. You could make up your own award, give it to yourself, and then say you are an "award-winning" company/product, people do it way more than you think. That being said, I do think this game is really good, esp for a student project. The way the monster keeps evolving reminds me of the first Alien movie, and the entire game feels inspired by Alien (or at the very least is paying homage to it). I think the premise is silly though, like you mentioned why is the player character the only rescue personnel sent to an entire space station lol. I think a simpler plot would work better, like maybe the player character is out of fuel and needs to make an emergency landing at this space station, or something like that. Still a very impressive and way better game than I could ever make!
