@watsonwroteАй бұрын
@@sophritoh That was my reaction at first, and then I reread that they're nieces and nephews. If you're watching someone else's kids, you're 100% responsible for their safety and shouldn't take any chances or get separated. If a group of kids those ages was on a field trip and there was only one adult with the group, they wouldn't let the kids be separated and everyone would hang out near the restroom entrance until everyone was ready to move on. As the parent, you make judgments about what level of independence and supervision is required. When a parent entrusts a caretaker with their kids, the caretaker's #1 responsibility is safety. Not teaching them life lessons, not letting them have fun or feel grown up. Above everything, it's getting them back to their parents safely. So yeah, it's overly cautious but that's the right approach in this case. Nobody wants to look a parent in the eye and say, "I'm sorry, I don't know where so-and-so is and they won't answer their phone..."

Yeah, and it's scary when parents don't feel that way. Usually if I see a kid in public and they start to walk away from their parent or otherwise start to leave their sight the parent(s) immediately take action. But there's been a few times I saw a kid wander away and the parents weren't paying attention or didn't respond, or took forever to come and get their kid. I was a kid that got lost a lot and luckily nothing happened, and I'm assuming the same is true for these families, but man, why ever allow the risk? There were even a couple times I had to call over a kid's parents or point and tell a kid to go back to their family. Obviously the vast majority of people are going to be helpful, but if your kid runs up to some strange adult while you're on the other side of the parking lot/building/hiking area, is it going to me and my friends, or is it going to be the guy in this video?
@dasadd6374Ай бұрын
@watsonwrote good point. It's scary how most of the people don't think the way you do. I remember 4 or 5 times a lost kid found me and started crying how they lost their mommy. One of them was a foreign and couldn't even understand them. Some of them I had to carry becose they were tired from looking for their parents for so long, while they don't even noticed they have been gone or didint even contact police about it. Most of the times I would find their parents by listening to kid giving me directions. I was concerned for them and tried to help the best way I could, given I was a child like them, just old enough to understand that they need help. Given it's a peaceful island where bad things usually don't happen would you really take that chance and leave your kid to wander off by themselves. Sometimes parents would leave their child with me to take care of them not even ask, just leave them with me to take care of them while they are at work and I was barely few years older then them and also unfamiliar with dangers and would wander with them, just becose they know a underaged child would ask money for the service

From what I understand the grandma was using the bathroom and left her outside the bathroom. Lil girl then gets abducted and brought to the park and dude attempts to assault her, but a passer-by interrupts him and scared him off, saving the girl. Meanwhile, dude drove back to the store, either at the store or near it he spots her and abducts her again, then all this happens.

Even when I was in school, like 12, somehow everybody knew this one girl had been raped and got herpies from it (which is absolutely fucking horrible), we knew to not mention it (and this wasn't even reported in the news like this, so just imagine), I treated her as a normal person like not thinking about that shit at all, but it was still a discussion my friends brought up before she arrived to hang out with us and her friends, and I know my one friend still said some stupid shit around her and it got awkward, he didn't even mean to, he was just an idiot. I'm not saying this video specifically per se, just that it made it to the news and KZbin and shit and I can guarantee people around her will know. I don't even know what this would do to a child mentally just being the victim of such a disgusting deplorable crime like this, but I hope she has support and friends that don't judge anything or annoy her and she can find a way to put it behind her and still find happiness, just saying I hope kids don't bug her if they know or watch and share these videos just as something to have a reaction similar to the virality of "Porsche girl" if you know about that, luckily there's so much shit happening that this story will most likely fade into obscurity, but I'm praying she gets all the love and respect she needs, she doesn't need stupid people bothering her on top of what she went through

NYPD press conferences are so fucking annoying. They ALWAYS puff out their chest and brag about how good they are. Plus they set up the conference on the crime scene with the car still in the background ... like what? They probably had to tell the tow truck driver to wait, because all the top brass had to come down for the photo opportunity.

The story doesn't make sense. In one version she was kidnapped, assaulted, saved, left by herself, then kidnapped and assaulted again. But neither the news reporter nor the chief said anything like that. And the tagline for the video doesn't fit the story at all. He didn't kill himself. He died as a result of crashing into an innocent person in the process of eluding the cops. What the heck? The story was sensational all on it's own. Real life tragedy doesn't need lights and bells to grab our attention. Please just stick to the facts.
