There's a scene in Call Me By Your Name where Timothee Chalamet who plays Elio is sitting by a fireplace shedding tears when he learns Oliver is getting married. It's the winter, it's snowing, and Elio is remembering back to that summer (this is to Sufjan Stevens singing Visions of Gideon). In a way, Predatory Wasp is like that. The start of the song is in winter and the narrator (which presumably is some version of Sufjan) recalling this summer he spent with a boy. It suggests they were close and the narrator kisses him and it's implied that this was not reciprocated. There is a video with Sufjan who relates this story in a humorous way. With recent revelations, this song may have been as people (like me) had suspected but Sufjan had been tight lipped about (as is is prerogative). Even so, it's nice to see this song as companion piece to this scene.

What I like about this performance is to hear the vocals clearly. I've heard a capella versions but the background vocals were overpowering the lyrics. The xylophone is a nice touch as well the duet/trio.
