@@connorlancaster7541 Hebrews 5:9 is one fraction of the whole verse (and you could not even quote *_that fraction_* accurately) so here is the entire sentence: For every high priest taken from among men is appointed for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins. He can have compassion on those who are ignorant and going astray, since he himself is also subject to weakness; because of this he is required as for the people, so also for himself, to offer sacrifices for sins. 4 And no man takes this honor to himself, but he who is called by God, just as Aaron was. So also Christ did not glorify Himself to become High Priest, but it was He who said to Him: _“You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.”_ As He also says in another place: _"You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek”_ who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear, 8 though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered *and having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him* called by God as High Priest “according to the order of Melchizedek,” of whom we have much to say, and hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing.

@@inTruthbyGrace How come it says SALVATION FOR ALL WHO OBEY HIM? What happens if we don’t obey Jesus? What if we die in willful sin? Salvation is not a one step, one stop process. Salvation is something that is a multi-component process. The first step is to believe in Jesus, John 3:16 as well as believe in the Gospel. Believing in Jesus to be saved is the very initial part, as well as accepting Him, John 3:16, John 17:20. But obedience must follow after that initial belief immediately followed by true repentance, Luke 13:3, Mark 1:15. Those who do not believe will be damned, John 3:36.

@@connorlancaster7541 Connor I know what you are saying but if you believe, you really have passed from death to life (John 5:24) and nothing is going to put you back to death.. it takes a while to be sanctified buddy.. you can not put new believers under the expectation that suddenly they are going to be sinless.. they are not. God may allow them to remain in sin until they recognize their need for the Lord to remove them from it.. read Romans 7 (Paul says it perfectly: 24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 *_I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.)_* we are stuck in this body for a while still...but Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: (Phil 1:6) and we have this assurance that if we continue in His Word we are His disciples indeed (John 8:31-32)... Jesus sanctifies us by His truth, His Word is truth. (John 17:17) Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart. For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. (1Pet 1:22-23) therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. (Rom 5:1-2) For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Rom 8:38-39) For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!” Gal 2:19-21 and Col 2:13-15 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. 15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. so yes we are to strive for the highly calling of God in Christ Jesus... but our salvation is not dependent on our obedience because "!f we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. @@inTruthbyGrace If you go back into willful sin yes you can. So what if the believer keeps on willfully sinning after years of accepting Jesus? or knowing the Bible is not enough, we must also put the Gospel into practice in order to enter the kingdom, Matthew 7:21. If we truly love God, we will keep His commandments, John 14:15. Paul reiterates that we must repent and do the works worthy of repentance Acts 26:20. This repentance is for everyone and was first preached by John the Baptist in Matthew 3:8. So both the Apostles in the New Testament and John the Baptist preaching to the people of Israel under the law still are required to bring forth fruits worthy of repentance. Jesus defines repentance as turning from sin as well as a change of mind, both, not one nor the other. Jesus says Nineveh would have repented at the preaching of Jonah. Then looking to Jonah 3:10, we see how Ninevah repented. They did not simply have a change of mind only, but they also had a change of works as it says they turned from their wicked ways. Maybe Paul was talking about the Old Testament law there. We believe in being saved by grace which is through faith, and that faith without works is dead faith, James 2:14-26. Jesus is the author of our faith, Hebrews 5:9, and His faith was filled with works that pleased the Father, not men, not flesh. Jesus had the perfect faith that always pleased the Father, John 8:29, Revelation 14:12. Grace, with respect unto salvation, is the opportunity to repent. Without true repentance, no grace will save anyone. Ephesians 2:8-9 by Apostle Paul says "we are saved by grace through faith, and this is the gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast." Nearly always when Paul mentions works in the New Testament he is referring to the works of the law as well as Jewish traditions not found in the 613 Mosaic laws but were considered in that culture and society as law. For instance, the priests questioned why Jesus and His followers did not wash their hands before eating. This was not in the 613 Mosaic laws but was a tradition the priests added into their culture/religion. Thus, Paul is referring to dead works or works of the flesh in Ephesians 2:8-9. Obeying Jesus is not part of the Old Testament law. Jesus gave new commands such as "Love one another as I have loved you, this is a new command I give you." There are many detailed teachings from Jesus we must abide by if we truly are in Him, which Paul confirms in 1 Timothy 6:3. We must abide in the teachings of Jesus as He, Paul, and the other Apostles taught. This is the will of the Father, Matthew 17:5. Notice how John 8;31-32 says “IF we continue in his word” What if we don’t stay in his word? If nothing can separate us from God's love, why does Jesus say we can be in Revelation 3:16? So does Paul in Romans 11:22. Also 1 Cor 9:27, Hebrews 10:26. It says they were graphed in which means not Jews. Also see the other verse I gave you. Also remember Jesus says you are the salt. But if you lost your saltiness you are cast out. When it says if we say we have no sin I think that’s means if you say you have never sinned in your life. I think same goes for 1 John 1:8-10

@@connorlancaster7541 "go *_back_* to wilful sin?" so you imagine that you have not only *_left sin_* but are in willful control of it?! ...that would have to include your earthly flesh and your tongue, ... that would also mean you are so filled with knowledge of God's Word and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. that you never offend His perfect will (2Pet 1:2-9)? ... no more warring in your members (Rom 7:23) ??? hmm. I tried to demonstrate through The Word of God that sanctification takes time (1Pet 1:22-25), sanctification comes from the knowledge of the Word of God (John 17:17, John 8:31-32, 2Pet 1:1-13) and it's not possible to completely end the war between the carnal and spiritual man (Rom 7:14-25) until we are glorified (Eph 4:13), because scripture demonstrates that no one is perfect until we are glorified and become adopted children of God .....but obviously you cont8inue to argue because you disagree... so okay... That is quite a claim you are making about yourself!! What an accomplishment ... even Jesus didn't claim to have done things on His own strength (John 5:30-47, 8:28, 54)....He glorified God it is amazing that you have such a perfect knowledge of God's will that you will offend God in NOTHING having "willfully left sin" ... that is a "perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ".... if that is true you deserve tons of glory for what you have done! The rest of us are still seeking to abide in The Lord and be pruned by the Husbandman (John 15)studying the Word of God to learn of our secret faults (Psalm 19:12) and reign in our flesh and tongue (James 3:5-18) leaning on the grace of God to show us how to escape and bear the temptations we encounter and ask God to forgive us for the sin we commit when we fall short (Luke 22:40, 1Cor 10:13, 1John 1:7-10).. still answering Jesus' call to repent because we are still sinners.

Right! So why should a Calvinist commit to man (a church) - funny that Calvinist pastors have big churches for a god that could reject them and their whole congregation….

The Three Pillars As you may know: the word apocalypse means "revealing of that which is hidden". The sources of information, in this world, will reveal nothing unless you are aware of some basic facts that allows the Holy Spirit to guide you toward fullness in understanding. Some are already aware of these things - but I'll clarify them for those who are unaware or unsure. These basic facts including: 1) The Truth about Sin 2) The Nature of Reality 3) The Name of the Most High The Truth About Sin The scripture tells: us God warned Adam to not partake of the tree of knowledge of good and evil - because it was lethal to the soul. This can be clarified as: Tree = source of information Knowledge of good = truth Knowledge of evil = lies Fruit = doctrines / theories etc Partake = digest and believe Sin = delusion (spiritual death) Sin is described as"missing the mark" in scripture because this is when a soul seeks to justify wicked behavior (using excuses that are of a delusional nature). This is to say: the scripture is primarily concerned with the development of spiritual children (which means it is an attitude adjustment handbook). To be in sin is the same as saying: a person has embraced a state of delusion in which they convince themselves they are righteous or chosen or anointed etc. Therefore, we must take care not to digest and believe anything that has the mixture of lies and truth. The Nature of Reality All of reality has been established in duality - from the moment God created the Heaven and the Earth all the way through to modern day where people are double-minded. Indeed, the duality is everywhere - so we are subjected to philosophies, ideas, doctrines, theories, religions that all contain the mixture of lies and truth to some degree. Duality In Scripture The Word of God is like a double edge sword, having duality, that can be interpreted correctly or incorrectly depending of the attitude of the reader. Yahusha told us He spoke plainly - so we can learn how to use the sword effectively (after we appreciate the duality in scripture). For example, the scripture says Mary was found to be with child before they came together. This can mean: 1) before Joseph and Mary had sex or 2) before Joseph and Mary were married Those who study the scripture with perfect humility will come to understand: Joseph was visited by an angel twice (for different reasons) - and this will reveal the correct interpretation. Duality In Science Delusion is defined as, an idiosyncratic belief or impression maintained despite being contradicted by reality or rational argument. Who decides what is an idiosyncratic belief? Well ... science has claimed authority on the subject of what is regarded legitimate belief or idiosyncratic belief - because it has established the mechanism for scientific enquiry which is considered scrupulous. Science achieved this by integrating the following idioms: 1) Science does not deal in proofs. 2) Theories are "provisional truths". 3) Science is self-correcting. These phrases are paradoxical. An institution that does not deal in proofs is a religion that deals in beliefs - that may be legitimate or idiosyncratic. A theory 'provisional truth' is an idea that is accepted as factual (legitimate belief) until falsified (as an idiosyncratic belief). The phrase "self-correcting" means science is aware its beliefs may be idiosyncratic - but they are considered legitimate until falsified. This means: science is perpetuating a faith in every theory being legitimate - until they are falsified as idiosyncratic. In other words: science fosters theories that contain accurate and inaccurate information - with the reassurance the process of proofing roots out error. This "reassurance" leads people to accept unproven theories as "provisional truths" and arguments, within the scientific community, should include determining the difference between direct and indirect evidence. Duality: In Conclusion Scripture has duality which can lead the haughty to create false doctrines - that contain truth and lies. Science has a methodology that allows the biased to create idiosyncratic beliefs - that contain accurate and inaccurate information. Both of these have caused delusion. This is not to say scripture is the tree of knowledge of good and evil - but it has a duality that allows people (trees) to set roots and preach false doctrines. Likewise, science has taken a path toward creating theories that exalt ancient mystery religion - where people (trees) set roots to preach idiosyncratic beliefs. In short ... people have established institutions (religions) using science and / or scripture incorrectly to assert their own understanding as truth. The point is: these things, I have spoken of, are drawing attention to the fact - many things have been hidden - specifically for the last generation to acclimate and embrace the apocalypse. The Name of the Most High The Name of the Most High is said to be unutterable and ineffable - not because we are not allowed to speak it - but because it cannot be spoken. It can only be observed in the way we abound in the love of Christ - which means it is exemplified by walking in perfect humility before the Father. The scripture tells us we are to place the Name in the forehead - which is to give first consideration toward the manifestation of the Hallowed Name (just as Yáhusha did before us - re. John 17:6) - to avoid creating any kind of religion. He told us to love one another as He loves us so the Father may know He (Yáhusha) loves the Father in Heaven. Indeed ... there is no need for any religiosity - when we emulate Yahusha. Placing the Name in the forehead includes taking care to avoid anything that contains the mixture of lies and truth. This requires effort and practice to master - because we need to take care with our thoughts as well as our deeds. This brings me to my final word: Beware the leaven of the Pharisees, which is (basically) a Messiah Complex, because it convinces a soul it is annointed to preach the Word of God. This is a highly specialised occupation in which it is easy to stumble and cause others to stray. The sword is given to those who seek to circumcise their own hearts - rather than engage in theological debate or deliver heartfelt sermons. The elect, who graciously accept the gift of life, have nothing to prove - except they embrace the peace of our Lord and Saviour. It is wiser to elevate the Word of God by recommending we study the scripture in perfect humility - while demonstrating perfect humility in our ways - than run the risk of making mistakes when explaining scripture. By all means: sow seeds - but let the Holy Spirit bring a fellow servant to full understanding. On that note ... I offer you (all) my heartfelt blessings as we seek the Kingdom of Heaven - and I would appreciate any prayers you may have for me. Bless ❤️ The Name

Haggai Chapter 2 1In the seventh month, in the one and twentieth day of the month, came the word of the LORD by the prophet Haggai, saying, 2Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and to the residue of the people, saying, 3Who is left among you that saw this house in her first glory? and how do ye see it now? is it not in your eyes in comparison of it as nothing? 4Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the LORD, and work: for I am with you, saith the LORD of hosts: 5According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not. 6For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; 7And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts. 8The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts. 9The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts. 10In the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying, 11Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying, 12If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt do touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat, shall it be holy? And the priests answered and said, No. 13Then said Haggai, If one that is unclean by a dead body touch any of these, shall it be unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean. 14Then answered Haggai, and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith the LORD; and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean. 15And now, I pray you, consider from this day and upward, from before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the LORD: 16Since those days were, when one came to an heap of twenty measures, there were but ten: when one came to the pressfat for to draw out fifty vessels out of the press, there were but twenty. 17I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the labours of your hands; yet ye turned not to me, saith the LORD. 18Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the LORD'S temple was laid, consider it. 19Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you. 20And again the word of the LORD came unto Haggai in the four and twentieth day of the month, saying, 21Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth; 22And I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the heathen; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother. 23In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel, saith the LORD, and will make thee as a signet: for I have chosen thee, saith the LORD of hosts.

Great point on the sovereignty of God. If Predestination is the way Calvinist suggest then why does scripture say “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:3-4, God wouldn’t desire “ALL MEN” be saved. It would make no sense. Dave Hunt IS a great teacher. I can’t even listen to John McArthur. Nowhere in scripture am I called to be a catholic, Protestant, Calvinist, Lutheran, nor any other man made religion. I am called to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. The reformation WAS NEEDED because the Roman Catholic Church had become so pagan and preaches mysticism instead of True Scripture that God made the break for us, but here are all these men acting like the pope. Quit placing limits on scripture. Use it within its context and it always says the same thing. Men change the context to suit their small brains. Dave Hunt is much like Dr. Chuck Missler. Great work brother Hunt.

Calvin was the last person in the world who would’ve been a so-called Calvinist or espoused something so absurd as Calvinism. These so-called Calvinists are like the Roman Catholic clerics of the Middle Ages who debated how many angels could dance on the head of a pin. These “Calvinists” are pretty close to modern day Pharisees who are carried away and made mad by their “great learning,” whereas they’ve completely forgot first principles and are like jazz musicians who go beyond what ordinary people can understand and appreciate and often wind up dooming themselves to an early death. As for myself, I have thoroughly read through The Institutes on two occasions forty years apart and found no Calvinism therein but I am a rather simpleton who understands very little as I should and have no standing therefore to contend with such a lofty group as “Calvinists.” They have made an ideology out of Calvin’s expositions for which there is no basis just as the Roman Catholics have constructed Roman Catholism for which there is no basis either. Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house. 10Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit. 11And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands. 12Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent him, and the people did fear before the LORD. 13Then spake Haggai the LORD'S messenger in the LORD'S message unto the people, saying, I am with you, saith the LORD. 14And the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the LORD of hosts, their God, 15In the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.

It is not a matter of being good enough to remain a Christian; it is a matter of keeping the faith. We can leave or shipwreck our faith. 2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. You did what? No Paul you had absolutely nothing to do with keeping your faith. Sounds just like Calvinism.

I love his teachings but he was mistaken on the word believe in the Lord. To believe it is much more than an acknowledgment, or a mental agreement with the Word. Paul says I believe therefore I said. To me to believe means to follow the Lord (obedience) to the Lord. I can not call him Lord if I am not his servant. I accept as my Lord and savior. The Lord not too long time ago told me if you do not let me in your life to be your Lord I can not be your savior either. The same person! Faith without works is a dead faith that does NO any good to any, will save no one. Yes, Jesus is the savior but I must believe that and act on it (because I believe that will manifest). Jesus said those who love me keep MY commandments. Not the 10 commandments! Not talking about to do the law, my faith in Jesus motivates me to obey him to keep his Word. My problem people say they believe but there are no fruits or any change in their life, that is the lie of the devil. Calvinist are very messed up! Blessing to all.

It was funny when Dave Hunt was on a radio show with James White and James asked Dave if he had some traditions and Dave answered back "no". That's when James said, "Then you have the most traditions." Ha. Yep, Dave had many traditions as do the ones who believe in human freewill to make their own choice of the gospel. Dave Hunt was unfortunately bent against proper soteriology in that God has chosen from all eternity who will be saved. Dave's favorite passage which he constantly brings up is John 3:16 claiming it teaches that "whosoever" means that anyone can come to Christ even though the same writer John in just 3 chapters later says no one can come to me unless the Father draws him and I will raise him up on the last day speaking of everlasting life. It is funny how the freewillers and provisionists will say these weird, man-made ideas while the Bible says the exact opposite.

No man comes to God except those that God reveals himself to! Peter wasn’t any better or more spiritual than the other disciples. He was the one who declared Jesus was the son of God because it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit of God. Hence Jesus’s reply “ flesh and blood has not revealed this to you “. So salvation is available for all men but only those who He chose before the foundation of the world will He reveal Himself to. The others He blinded. I believe believers should shun evil and repent continuously throughout the course of their journeys here on Earth. But I also believed in being saved and sealed. Once delivered from sin your transgressions are faults and not sin. But everyone who declares they are born again isn’t being truthful. We see people who are reprobate because when they knew better they CHOSE not to believe.

So let me get this straight, man can have a choice about who can get saved but God can't? You mean to tell me that you think you will be in heaven because of what you did. How much pride do you need for that? Let me help everyone out. We all at least know that God Chose Jesus as the means for salvation, or was it God and man? Did the 11+ 1 Apostles chose God or did they chose God? They didn't, Jesus chose them. But what happen to Judas? Exactly, he was chosen too. But didn't Judas go to hell, and the Apostles to heaven? Yes. Did the 11 chose to get to heaven, or is John 15:16 true? Did Judas chose to go to hell? No one would ever chose to go to hell, they had no choice because everyone is going to hell, no one can ever ever get saved or get to heaven. Why? Because it imposable. Try it, your going to hell, let me see how you can escape from going to hell. Let me see, who are you going tell you want to make your chose to get saved. It's not God, your a sinner on your way to hell. God doesn't hear sinners. God knows everyone person that was ever born is going to hell, all 8 billion. If everyone is going to hell and God being God want's to save who ever He want's to save, should we complain because He wanted to have mercy on who ever He wanted to have mercy on? I mean after all someone has to be God. This is what everyone is debating about. If God had mercy on some that means He's not having mercy on others and that means He chose those to go to hell. But heres what everyone is missing. If the Word say's God has His elect. Then He has He's elect. He's God. He can. Example, of all the nations God chose Israel, or did Israel chose God? Of all the people He chose you, but you want more proof, so you being a fallen man that might have a little bit of pride want some credit so you say I chose to get saved. Guess what. God helped you by sending someone He chose to tell you He also chose you and because He had mercy on you and He want's you to be with Him, He doesn't mind that you think you had something to do with it. At the same time there's others that are saying, they are so glad God chose them because they would of never chose Him. But what about those that end up in hell? Here's the answer to that, what are you doing about that? And, aren't you glad your not God? Here's everyones problem, there either a Calvinism or an Arminanism. Then there's Me/ Ha!

I really like Dave Hunt but this is a weak argument and a misinterpretation of "Calvinism". The fact is the book of life was written from the foundation of the world, before anyone was born, let alone "born again". Paul clearly states "God will have mercy on whom he will have mercy" and who are we to argue with His plan. If God did not forcibly intervene none of us would get saved , NONE. No one chooses to "get saved" from a unregenerate condition as the carnal mind is at enmity with God and can never choose His way.
@dannygillmusic5 жыл бұрын
It’s your response to the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Romans 8 does not say that the carnal mind cannot choose Gods way, it says that the carnal mind “is not subject to the laws of God, neither indeed can be”. A carnal mind is not in the spirit (the opposite).

Dave Hunt is/was one of the best. But I find his disparaging remarks re. the study of Greek, to be very disappointing. All Bibles come to us via imperfect fallen vessels. The original languages are the closest that we can get to the pure “Word of God”. Thanks to the abundance of on-line resources freely available to us today, it is a relatively straight forward matter to examine photo copies of actual manuscripts such as those few used by Erasmus. Then, to translate individual verses using Strongs or other concordance. The results can be surprising, even disturbing. To instead entirely trust the work of any fallible translator, is similar to the trust expected by the Catholic Church. It is not “Berean”, especially for teachers of the Word.

although this man's knowledge of the bible is extensive, his comments about calvinism shows that he has never read Romans 9, Scripture also teaches that no one is seeking after God, Jesus said we do not accept the light because we cannot.
@dannygillmusic5 жыл бұрын
Actually Jesus said in John 3:16 - 20 that men LOVED darkness rather than the light because their deeds are evil. He said men don’t come to the light because they don’t want their deeds exposed, he didn’t say that they could not, but that they do not. The scripture that says no man seeks after God is not saying that it is impossible for man to seek God (as that would contradict the promise of “if you seek me you find me”) he is simply saying that no one is born righteous, no one was dropped out of heaven seeking, doing, and desiring God’s will.

I am disappointed in this approach to dealing with such a subject by Dave Hunt. To commence a sermon on predestination by referring to the Koran as having a similar doctrine thereby implying it has similar origin is misleading to say the least. The Koran was compiled in the 600's and it may be said that Muhammad just copied the doctrine from the Scriptures and syncretized the Pauline teachings with his own, which is quite normal when you examine the Koran and its similarity with the OT. The use of the word TULIP to explain his theology was not John Calvin's or the Reformer's idea, it was the oppositions (Remonstrants) attempt to qualify the Reformers position in order to argue against it. They were Arminian like most of you who choose to discount the Sovereignity of our God. Instead of "jumping to conclusions" about "Calvinism" you would do well to examine the Scriptures as the noble Bereans did with Paul's teaching (Acts 17:11 ...... "... received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.") I must say that I held the same view in my younger years and found that my Christianity was dead and lifeless and I languished over praying for people's salvation. All I could do is hope they would accept the Lord Jesus as their Saviour as it was all to do with their will which basically was "dead in trespasses and sin". Might as well be talking to a dead person. It wasn't till one day I was made aware that they needed to be "raised from the dead" and that could only be accomplished through the mercy of God through Jesus our Lord and His Word.
@unclanrhino5 жыл бұрын
That you were languishing in prayers for the unsaved is a good thing. That's what Paul did in Romans 9:1-4: "I speak the truth in Christ-- I am not lying... I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, those of my own race, the people of Israel." See also Romans 11. Interesting that the closer Paul got to Christ, the more his heart desired their salvation...that doesn't make much sense under Calvinism. Shouldn't his mind be conformed to God's will for the non-elect to be passed over?

One question I always ask a Calvinist. If God has chosen some to go to Heaven and some for Hell. Isn't it possible that you're actually called to burn in Hell? If one can answer this biblically then we can look deeper. Sadly, Calvinist say they're saved by grace when their actions say that they're not even secure in their own salvation. So they do good works to prove that they're saved. " look at my good works I must be saved ". This is works salvation not a saved by grace through faith. There's many examples of people in scripture who have chosen to willfully walk away or that it's possible to choose to obey or disobey. Revelation 2=the church of Ephesus = return to your first love or I'll take away your lampstand, 2 Peter 2:22 like a dog turning to his own vomit, Romans 11:22= if you continue in MY goodness or be cut off, Hebrew 6 4-6 those who have tasted the Lord and have been saved a willfully walk cause they bring an open shame to the Lord it is impossible to renew them again. In order for it to be possible to renewed one has to be in first. Common sense. Bless your heart. I tell you this cause I love you

Can you give one Scripture verse that says you are born again prior to believing on Jesus Christ? No, of course you can't because it's heresy.

I agree. He went to easy on these heretics. John Calvin had people murdered, hung even. Burned. Very vile evil man.

"Man" is to be blamed" for evil in the world, etc.?? Praise "man" then. Seems to me that the One Who is the Source of all things, the One Who actually created "evil" on purpose, would be the One responsible for all things. You are thinking a bit too highly of "man", of His Creation. It is the Potter that has made and caused these things, not the clay.

Anybody who goes through all the trouble of adopting a child and then as soon as the child makes a mistake takes them back to the orphanage isn’t worth being a parent. God doesn’t treat His children that way. Once His always His. Jesus came to show us what we would endure as children of The Most High. We have an example of how to live to Glorify our Father in Heaven.

Wonder Filled sorry but that’s a misrepresentation/misunderstanding of the “lose your salvation” argument (I prefer the term “forfeit your salvation”). We don’t believe God will change his mind about saving you because you make a mistake. We are saying that you retain the ability to turn away from God, and that you can still choose to reject him after having accepted him. You can forfeit your salvation through willful sin (not a mistake, living in sin, backsliding). “For if after they have ESCAPED the pollutions of the world through the KNOWLEDGE of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are AGAIN entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have KNOWN the way of righteousness, than, after they HAVE KNOWN IT, to TURN from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the TRUE proverb, the dog is TURNED to his own vomit AGAIN; and the sow that WAS WASHED to her wallowing in the mire” - 2 Peter 2:20 - 22 We are not talking about an accident or mistake, we are taking about a willful rebellion.

Danny Gill God knew who would accept and reject Him before the foundation of the world. Those whom He foreknew are sealed. It’s not that complicated. Of course man has free will but God provided a plan b for man before Adam sinned because although Adam might not have known what would take place, God did so the lamb was slain before the foundation of the world. If you reject Him it’s because you never belonged to Him. He knows the end from the beginning. All that are His will endure until the end. God knows where the prodigal will wander and just what it takes to make them return. The problem is people standing as if they have a salvation to give. We have a message to give offering people a blessed hope and that’s about it. It is the simplicity of the gospel that is being muddied and over complicated. We may plant and water but God only can give the increase. There is a number and that number does not fluctuate from day to day. It is settled in Heaven. The gospel will continue to be preached and souls will be saved. Paul prayed a prayer for his brethren that were “ yet in the world “ because it’s just a matter of time until they hear the gospel and realize that they are sons and just didn’t know it until the spirit bore witness through the preaching of the gospel.

@@dannygillmusic Could you give an example of this wilful rebellion and how you would know it was a Christian?
@dannygillmusic5 жыл бұрын
MrBazinthenow yes absolutely! Ananias and sapphira in the book of acts WILLFULLY withheld back a portion of the land and lied to the Holy Spirit. The 5 of the 7 churches in Revelation were rebellious in one way or another (most notably leodicea) and were commanded to repent. The Corinthian church was caught up into fornication. 2 Peter 2:20 tells us that it is possible to “escape the corruption of this world through the knowledge of Jesus Christ” and “become entangled again therein” (among other verses). Also Galatians 6:9, which is often quoted for other things, when taken in context is referring to receiving our reward. “7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that Soweto to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Galatians 6:7-9
