Nah, I have the Bruins at #1, Leafs #2, Bolts #3 and Panthers at 4. As for the other bottom tier teams it's a complete coin-flip, but I could see the Senators being at #5, Wings at #6 and the Sabres at #7.

I feel like Ottawa is the biggest wild card in this whole division this year. If Norris and Chabot stay healthy, with an extra 41 games with Pinto will be part of. And a goalie that doesn't let the first two shot attempts in net. Could be a third place team. Got to get Brady to the playoff minimum

A healthy and consistent Ottawa team could be top 3 in the division, unfortunately they just haven’t been healthy enough, hopefully this is their year

As a Panthers fan, I think this is a fair assessment. I have them 2nd as well. I just think you’re overestimating Detroit a bit (or maybe underestimating how mediocre they’ll be defensively).

Offensively they’re good but I don’t see how everyone has them so high and a playoff likely team. Their defense is horrible except for Seider and goaltending is a mediocre at best

Red Wings at 4 is a huge W. Since Yzerman took over at GM in 2019 and the Wings bottomed out that year, there has been no regression. They've improved every year both on the ice and in the standings. I have them finishing between 94 and 98 points this season.

Yeah i think it’s a fair placement, I don’t love the goaltending but it’s better than what they had last year, pay Seider and Raymond and they will have a promising future

Keep in mind Sergachev was basically not on the roster last year due to injuries so they replaced Dumba and Lilleberg with Moser and McDonough. The defense is actually significantly better going into next season. Also Guentzel is a massive upgrade over Stamkos who had his stats inflated by playing with the MVP runner up and scoring leader. Detroit have an underratedly terrible defense and I think they’re closer to MTL than a playoff spot. Here’s my predictions: Florida- lost depth but got off to a slow start last year so I really don’t think cup hangover makes a difference. Tampa- dealt with a lot of adversity last year and still made the playoffs fairly comfortably. They now have more depth defensively, got an elite winger in his prime, and reloaded the depth which should be similar if not a little better. Toronto- improved defense and Woll should still improve Boston- still make playoffs but Lindholm isn’t a real 1C and losing Ullmark hurts. Ottawa- their roster is actually pretty strong and Ullmark fixes their biggest problem. They have a good chance at the 2nd wild card Detroit- bottom 3 defense and below average goaltending. They’re getting overrated due to Yzerman being a recognizable name. Buffalo- somehow got worse this offseason Montreal- just not enough depth and experience rn

Detroit gotten better Tampa Bay gotten worse. I don't know why you think Detroit won't make the playoffs. Defense is meh goaltending is alright, and offense is good

@@boomboomrex644 Detroit got worse if anything. Lost Walman and Gostisbehere for basically nothing. Their defense is either too young (Edvinsson and Seider) or just genuinely bad (Petry and Chiarot). Seider is MAYBE a top 30-35 Dman in the league currently while everyone else is just mediocre to terrible. Talbot was carried by the kings defense and Lyon is just mid. Detroit’s looking at around 290-295 goals given up this season. Larkin, Detroit’s best forward, would be Tampa’s 4th or honestly even 5th best forward. It’s not exactly like Detroit has significantly more depth either. Tampa has better forwards, defensemen, and goalies. Tampa got better this offseason, Detroit got worse.

The attack/defense analyses for Montreal are all mixed up. The ratio of points by defensemen per team was the highest, and they had only one offensive line making points.

I think it’s more likely Boston falls below Toronto than them passing Florida. Not a fan of Lindholm I don’t think he’s THAT much better offensively than DeBrusk. Plus Toronto got some much needed defensive help and they’re bringing back basically the same forward group. And with Berube now behind the bench he’s gonna be a lot harder on them, so I see them having fewer nights off against bottom feeder teams that they would always have under Keefe. I think Toronto ends up closer to 110 points and contending for the division

Boston will be better since they actually have a top six center now who can win faceoffs which was the biggest problem last season it makes a huge difference

Linholm was just around bad people in Calgary the few years. Look what he did with Tkachuk on his line. Evan in Vancouver sometimes he was forced to play on the third line but when he was on the top 2 lines he played well. Imagine what he'll do in Boston with pastrnak

Point production wise yeah, Stammer is still playing great puck, plus the intangibles like "leadership" and "winning culture" will be missed.

Actually, Stamkos was a 20 goal scorer at 5 vs 5 last year and is starting to slow down which makes him more and more of a one way player. Guentzel is a fast two way player and will be a great complement to Point and Kucherov and if it doesn't fit could create a great line with Hagel and Cirelli. The Lightning was top 5 goal scoring team last year but allowed so much goals it almost cost us a place in the playoffs. Vasylevskiy was let down by the defense and the forwards were backing less and less. We needed two way players to solidify the defense and slowing Stamkos was not helping. Even though he is a hell of danger on a PP. The trades to bring in Moser, McDonagh and also a new young forward like Geekie who is 20 6'4 while we had to let go of Sergachev, made us younger and better on the long run. Now, remember that Sergachev and Stamkos have been hurt for entire several months/seasons before so the core players have been used to play without them in the roster. These moves certainly didn't make us cup contenders but it is keeping us from drowning at the bottom of the Atlantic.
