@ I hate Iowa too lol, but I’m originally from Wyoming so I’ve been a fan of Buchanan for a long time. Also i have a nerdy cousin that attended UW with Buchanan. Buchanan went out of his way to treat my cousin well and be a friend to him. I’ve been a huge fan since then!

Munoz finishing in 4th or 5th, I'm calling it. I think moving up to 184 was not a good decision. Maybe he wanted to avoid Starocci and Parker who he lost to last year. I might be biased since I am a life long OSU fan but 3rd place at 184 last year should mean something. I still am calling that he will get on the podium. He will figure it out and will not lose to Surber or anyone below the top 10 again.

Wrestling has fairly high "interference" with muscle building but just looking at a snapshot of these guys (as opposed to a fuller picture with factors like rate of progress, strength performance, etc.) none of this is remotely "naturally unachievable" for the sort of genetically gifted athletes that make it to this level in something requiring the kind of strength wrestling does. PED use is rampant across elite sports and is obviously not unheard of in NCAA either, but you typically cannot tell who is on by just looking for the guys with huge muscles. The next guy to pee hot might be some stringbean. You'd be shocked who's on.

Ah yes Penn State 197lber’s who have been the ones to most recently win the titles… Aaron Brooks and Max Dean. The same 197 pounder (Lucas Cochran) who bumped up to heavyweight to beat out a HWT AA that year. Who just got majored 11-1… by Josh Barr a 184 pounder bumping up… use some logic Charlie.

let’s do a little stat real quick. Real woods highest placement at the NCAA tournament before going to Iowa was a 6th place finish. Once he transferred he took 2nd his 1st year and then 4th his last year. Let’s look at Mikey Caliendo. His highest finish before Iowa was 7th place. Then he transfers, his first year he jumps to 4th… this year… who knows. Austin Desanto… well career speaks for itself. So the pattern is they always do the best in their careers their 1st year of Iowa… then they still do good just not as good as their 1st year. So Buchanan might surprise you.
