Just a note that Avalanche Studios (Just Cause, Mad Max, RAGE) is not the same as Avalanche Software (Disney Infinity). Outside of any hesitancy to engage with the Harry Potter IP, I think the dev studio making Hogwarts Legacy has it in them to create a solid open world title. Interested to see how the critical score shakes out.

Glad bless is going into RE4 with some positive vibes. If you played the original when it came out it was a revelation and really is one of the greatest of all time. Don’t really agree that the controls don’t hold up. but I also have been beating it every so often since it came out. Because of that I may not experience the controls in the same way. Going back and playing many old games for the first time now they aren’t going to feel as good as a modern game for first time players that’s understandable. With that said I am super excited for the remake. I think it will only build on what made the original so special.

Dead space is going to be high 80’s low 90’s. It’s not just a direct remake. Some areas will be larger and more fleshed out. There will be new areas added that didn’t make it to the original not to mention there will be no load screens. Dead space is going to crush it.

Final Fantasy XVI will likely be a 10/10 video game. But JRPGs don’t review like that critically anymore(sans Persona). I think that max it’ll hit 90. More likely 87 range.

I think there is so much more they can do with Spider-Man 2. There's a lot of room to improve the random crime which was already a very fun activity. On the topic of activities they can add more of those including races against other characters that could potentially cameo. And then what I would consider the holy Grail of a superhero game, random larger-scale supervillain attacks while traversing the city. Imagine there was a chance that as you're swinging around the shocker suddenly robs a Bank and you have to chase him down and do a mini fight. Even having kraven or venom randomly attack you and start a mini boss fight.

With SF6, maybe this is wishful thinking but I'm fairly confident that game will review super well. Everything that they've shown has been even more exciting, and while it won't have single player on the level of an NRS game, I'd argue Street Fighter doesn't need that. Also fun fact, fighting games usually do pretty well depending on the title. (Tekken 3 has a 96 on metacritic)

My hot take is that Zelda Tears of the Kingdom will be 90+ metacritic but as reviewed as well as BotW as being a "that's it?" with many fans agreeing (ofc unless there's truly something special being hidden about it which elevates it). Starfield, could be a Elden Ring type suprise where people thought the formula wouldn't hold well with 1000+ planets but suprisngly could. Metacritic wise could be low to mid 90s but wouldn't rule out being the GotY. Again all of this can age badly :s.

I think whatever Nintendo is cooking justifies the silence. Like they are ironing out every crevice of this game so there are no easy points to take off (like performance because i think all performance hiccup areas will be blown up haha). It will just come down to game design.

Atomic Heart developers announced that it will run at 4k/60 fps on consoles, which I just don't believe at all, I don't know how that will be possible there is no game that looks that good that runs 4k/60 on PS5

I have a sneaking suspicion the Hogwarts game is probably not going to review as well as it maybe should. I can see it taking hits from multiple directions. On the one hand, I bet there will be a bunch reviews by Harry Potter super-fans who will say things like "Ugh. The Avada Kedavra spell is 4% too blue. Did the devs even, like, read a Harry Potter book? 1/10." On the other hand, I also bet there will be a reviews that can't separate the property from its creator and there will be a bunch of "This game is a 9. But J.K. Rowling, tho. 6/10."

It is weird to me how much Hogwarts Legacy is constantly talked alongside JK Rowling controversy (rightfully so) but the studio has come out against her statements numerous times. But Atomic Hearts seemingly gets no reports on its connection to Russian money and how it’s success will indirectly fund the war in Ukraine and when asked the studio refuses to talk about it or condemn Russia. Both are issues but the one that actually leads to much higher human deaths gets much less attention.

Metacritic scores are outdated and nobody should trust them too much. You should just go in if you're hyped for game and judge it for yourself, don't go by online reviews or any Metacritic Score it just messes with your head.

Remember if it's a PS exclusive whether 1st or 3rd party....you have to add at minimum +8 to the score for the Pony affect....and for the Xbox you subtract -8 for there exclusives respectfully
