This is great information! I had a baby at 30 weeks 1 day! 2 lbs 10 oz and no health issues at all! I had an amazing ob and she was watching for it. My first symptom (besides random high BP but not steady) was spots. It was like shinning spots. Floaters that we’re almost lit up. Then when my son stood in front of a window he was very blurry to me. So when I looked at the light it blurred. Just for anyone who is going through it. It was scary but ended fine. She’s turning 6 this year. You got this mommas! And thank you for this video!

I wish these conditions were discussed by providers with pregnant women way more than they are. I had no idea what it was, and my midwife didn’t do a very good job at monitoring my weight and other symptoms. I’ve learned to research and take charge of my health. I had Eclampsia with 2 seizures. Praise God, after emergency c section baby and I were ok (even tho it took 8 days in the icu for my BP to stabilize). Now, I am pregnant with my second and determined to not let it happen again. Thank you for speaking out on this, and for the tips. I will be more proactive this time in watching out for symptoms and eating well.

How your second pregnancy went?
@melodyreddecopp5591
@melodyreddecopp5591 Жыл бұрын
@@princyprincesss4572 As far as eclampsia/preeclampsia goes, my 2nd pregnancy was night and day difference. Even though my provider told me that I had a 60% chance of having it again, I developed no high BP the entire pregnancy. I owe it to the fact that I (mostly) followed the Brewer Diet (there is a Facebook group called Dr Brewer Pregnancy Nutrition that is run by very helpful midwives who help navigate this). I did develop Vasa Previa, which is totally different, and because of this had to deliver via scheduled C section at 36 weeks. However, baby boy was healthy (he just needed a few days on the CPAP since boys' lungs don't develop as quickly as girls) and he weighed a whole pound and a half more than my daughter did when she was born at 36 weeks! I account that to the fact that I ate so well this time. My baby boy is 9 months old now and thriving.

I had high blood pressure towards the end of my pregnancy and now I’m pregnant again and my midwife is recommending low dose aspirin to help keep my blood pressure down. I will follow the directions of my doctor I just wanted to know your input!
@mamanatural

Since I am not a doctor I can't really weigh in on this except to say that the evidence does show that low dose aspirin can help prevent preeclampsia/HELLP and reduce blood pressure. It does not appear to thin the blood enough to cause bleeding issues. I hope you're able to avoid high blood pressure with this pregnancy!! You can also discuss taking magnesium, vitamin D and calcium with your midwife, and make sure that you are eating plenty of nutritious foods!

I had preeclampsia and was induced 3 weeks early. It was an extremely traumatizing 43 hour labor. My doctors didn't know shit on how to manage it. Their only solution was early induction. Turns out taking a baby asprin everyday can help reduce symptoms. I'm glad she mentioned folic acid. Many people have a gene, myself included, that prevents us from breaking down folic acid for use. So you likely deficient in folate. Take methylfolate. And methylated vitamins in general just make sure you're getting those nutrients. I was not overweight or diabetic. Just malnutritioned apparently.

This is my second pregnancy since I had a miscarriage last year. So my obygn the first time I took blood test I believe it was my first appointment with her she put me in low dose aspirin because she said I was positive for it. I’m 25 weeks pregnant and I have not noticed any swelling… I think the aspirin is not a bad idea because their is other women smaller then me! And they get preeclampsia. Everyone’s body is different. I would suggest you keep taking the aspirin as I am, either way your doctor will be checking you closely like my obygn has! But other ways to stay healthy is just being stress free, no worrying, trying to move around (walks) and having somewhat of a low carb diet. That’s what has helped me… but again everyone’s body is different.

@@jniahcorry3278 it can still be beneficial, you would just have to wait and see in your case. Most docs prescribe it at 12 weeks if a woman has had previous issues before. Most growth issues are not detected until mid pregnancy or even in the 3rd trimester so there's really no way of knowing, unless you had it at least once before or have other issues like blood clotting disorders or if over 35 some doctors prescribe it as a prevention. It is uncommon/rare but not impossible! If you are concerned, you can always talk to your doctor--screening for preeclampsia is one of the reasons you have regular appointments with your provider.

I’ve had preeclampsia in 4 out of 5 pregnancies now (i’m 18 weeks with my 6th so we’ll see how this one goes) so have been long curious about this. Honestly, it doesn’t seem that anyone really knows. There was a theory a couple of years ago that it was an autoimmune response to your placenta but I haven’t seen that one floating around as much lately.

@@mamanatural .. happened to me. 2 months ago. I lost my baby at 36+3 days .I was diagnosed with preeclampsia aat 36week scan appointment, I was monitored in the hospital but sent home ,3 days in a row. Early morning, 15th Nov. I felt my tummy hardening but no pain , and soon after I was bleeding. I rushed into hospital got an emergency cesarean section but it wass too late. This is happening in 2022, Lewisham HOSPITAL, LONDON. A pregnant woman at 36 weeks is sent home with preeclampsia symptoms.

@@merisandenisa8545 believe me I can relate even though I’m in USA. I lost a daughter due to insurance hospital’s unwillingness to admit her. As for NHS situation, I was terrified when I saw the midwife series on KZbin called “our stories” about NHS midwives and I realized none of the women delivering were offered pain relief during child birth. That’s is also the case in many other countries with “universal” health care. But even though I pay a lot of money for my HMO insurance they are still very stingy with epidurals. It’s just an illustration. It seems quality care Be it OBGYn or primary care is only available On a private concierge or boutique level in any country. If you know what I mean. I’m really sad that even in UK they have the same issues as we do here in USA. But for us it’s not even free. I pay one grand a month for a family insurance.

Your birth team also will not want to deliver your baby prematurely if at ALL possible-talk to them about ways to stay healthy until then! They are there to help you stay healthy and safe as well as avoid a preterm birth ♥️

Hello, Had a question about preeclampsia if you could somewhat give me a definite answer that would be great. I just recently gave birth 3 months ago and developed preeclampsia 1 week before giving birth. Also had issues with my blood pressure. But my main thing is doctors are saying that I shouldnt eat sodium foods AT ALL!! would you know anything regarding this matter? I also take blood pressure medicine now for 2 months and dont seem to have any problems as of now. Anyway you could give me your opinion on weather i can eat low sodium foods or NO sodium foods at all?? Should i maybe be on a strict diet?? Thank you very much.
@mamanatural

It’s impossible for me to answer this unfortunately as I’m not a medical professional and your situation is unique and may necessitate a different diet than others. Talking to a registered/licensed nutritionist/dietician may be a great place to start!

No, not necessarily. It's a risk factor for multiple issues.. but the problem is baby aspirin has to be started earlier or else it's not really effective. My doctor recommends it for everyone, actually.

I had none of the risk factors, took my prenatal vitamins and had a starting bmi of 18.5 and yet I still got PE so frankly the 'how to prevent PE' section of the video is a bit of a joke. Gained 5kg in pregnancy until week 35 where I Gained 3kg at once. Turned out PE was the culprit

It definitely can’t always be prevented! It would be so helpful if we knew exactly what causes it-sometimes it just happens 😩

i very much agree with this. this video is rubbish. i am a runner, cycler, and eat extremely healthy and weight 110 pounds. i gained 12 pounds my entire pregnancy and had 0 SWELLING, 0 protein in my urine. my only signs were very very low platelets and very high systolic blood pressure. NOTHING you can eat will change the outcome of getting this disease it is the placenta that is diseased, not the mother. the placenta send out neurotoxins throughout mammas body
