I still cannot believe that it went from makeup vids TO vlogs from your tinie tiny apartment TO moving from one place to another TO moving in with Jake TO Jake casually announcing you're already married while eating in the market TO you guys having a baby 🥹 so soooooo happy for you both, but esp for you, Sissel (sorry Jake, I'm indeed biased). You're on your way into motherhood, my mind still blown by that. Congratulations again! ❤

I'm pelvic floor physio (from Spain) that works with pregnant women before, during and after pregnancy/birth, so I'm going to tell you a couple things in case you don't know it. 1. The tightness down there, is related to muscle strength on the muscles outside and inside your "you-know-what", and those can be trained with squishing & relaxing exercises. What happens during birth is that they have to relax completely to allow the child to pass, and the hormonal storm of giving birth, debilitates every single muscle on the body. But after the 6th week after birth this stops and you can train the muscles back to normal tone (in 2 weeks would be normal - the pelvic floor ones at least, the rest of the body would take longer). 2. Muscle training is key during pregnancy because you'll have more "power" to push the baby, to shorten the labour, SPECIALLY if you train your quads and adductors. 3. To avoid tearing up, you have to train your pelvic floor muscles during pregnancy and around week 36, start doing the relaxing massage of "you-know-what", you can google it. 4.Even tho I am against epidural because of the risk of sticking a needle in the spinal cord, there is now forms of epidural that allow you to move and walk and get on whatever position you want to birth. 5. Focus on training your breathing, is key to a healthy pregnancy and delivery. 6. Once you are delivering the baby, push DURING EXPIRATION, that way your core is tight helping the child to exit, and the pressure of the push would be contain instead for going to your "you-know-what", avoiding tearing up and incontinences. 7. Last but not least, on average, it takes up until 2 years for the body to completely heal and get back to normal. So be patient with your self. Sorry for any spelling mistakes. Edit: I used "you-know-what" instead of the correct anatomic name of the thing, because I know KZbin and other platforms can punish the commenter and/or the creator of the video when those words appear, by eliminating the comment and/or demonetizing the video. There is nothing wrong with using the actual name of the body parts, on the contrary, I just didn't want the comment to be eliminated or undo Sissel's work.

I love how attached you are to self identity. I think it's very important to stay in touch with yourself and to realize you are yourself before you are a mother. I often see people lose themselves in parenthood completely and while understandable for such a huge shift it's also very unfortunate. It's really important for a child to see that their parents have their own identity and hobbies. I think it's very beneficial for development. I'm really excited to see this not turning into a 'mommy channel' but just Sissel+ basically, you are just adding onto your growth.

I think we put a lot of focus on not losing ourselves in motherhood. For me personally it was something I feared. But honestly it’s one of the most beautiful things to be lost in. It’s so special. I would say honestly lose yourself because the woman that emerges after is such a pleasure to be.
@Shirumoon
@Shirumoon 2 ай бұрын
@@KendallM0219 Umm it depends on how you define losing yourself. If you end up with no friends afterwards and a severe depression once your child/children have moved out, that is extremely unhealthy. Also this can lead to helicopter parenting which harms both the parents and the child mentally. Being lost in parenthood may be nice during the first few years but if you can't let go after that and accept that both you and your little one are seperate entities, it's gonna be rough.

It's so tough to create a multilingual home but it is so worth it. I am so grateful that my father was adamant about teaching us and speaking with us in Spanish in the home despite what teachers at the time were saying because we were learning English and French at school (example: it will confuse them, they will fall behind). Instead, our parents stayed aware of our language journey and supported us through the ups and downs of it. I'm so grateful to them now. I feel so connected to myself and I feel like access to these language played a huge role in it.

my husband is Italian and I'm Venezuelan he speaks Italian and I speak Spanish with our daughter, it's very helpful and so good for them to hear so many languages in the first 6 months and continue to. You are going to do it so well! but you have to let them speak in whatever language they feel or want to respond because can be more harmful than good for the kid. the first year for the kid the language is all the same like different ways to say the same thing

Hi Sissel, I have been a follower of yours since very early days (podcast included haha) and I have to applaud how in tune with your body you seem to be, you are going to be an amazing mom ❤️ I am also from Europe and seeing the way koreans treat pregnancy seems mind-boggling, given that we as women have been doing this for thousands of years! Listen to your body and trust your instincts, I think is the best advice. Also,how you plan on treating your child in the online space is really smart, I think lots of moms forget the dangers of internet and start focusing on mommy content, even though we as followers still want to know about you mainly! Remember: your child will come out having it’s on mind and personality from the beginning. It’s not an empty vessel that you fill with your ideas of culture or language. This will come over time. So be adaptive to this new person in your life. Getting to know your child and listening to their thoughts is the best part.

Damn giving birth in Korea sounds very scary because I wouldn’t want to be so estranged from my child after giving birth to it. Bonding is so so so important and there are a million other reasons, scientifically proven, why giving birth naturally is so much better. Giving birth vaginally is even proven to help strengthen the baby’s immune system. Our bodies are so amazing and I wouldn’t want my child to miss out on very important health benefits and the emotional bonding. Fingers crossed everything will turn out the way you guys plan to 🥰🙏🏻

You are glowing! I love your approach to pregnancy and birth so much. One think I would like to add about showing your child online: it's not about the face, it's about the whole body. Future employers will be able to see them as babies. I am very, very glad my employers can't do that. And also, people really really really underestimate the darknet. I can't believe people don't understand that videos and photos of babys/children are so very likely to land in the darknet. Once there, you have no control over what is done with those videos and photos.

One thing I’d also recommend is researching and looking into the NICU options at the hospitals or birthing places you are considering giving birth at. For my first pregnancy I was considered low risk but then out of nowhere my water broke at 25 weeks. I had planned to do a natural birth and all the plans I made went out the window. My baby had a long stay at the NICU of about 4 months. It was quite an emotional journey but he is a little fighter. He’s now almost a year old and does have a few developmental physical delays but is healthy. I’m now pregnant with my second and he is going to be delivered via c section in about 2 weeks. I was hoping to give birth naturally but because of the way I was cut and my first baby being so premature I can’t ever do it. I’m at peace with that though because I just care about the health of the baby. I hope you have a good healthy birth.

Hi Sissel! Here a new mom (my little one is 9 months old). I recommend doing something like Pilates for pregnant women to work the pelvic floor (it helped me a lot) and walking a lot. Also, I think it is important to prepare in advanced for postpartum (doing therapy helps) because this is something nobody tells you about and it is really really hard, especially during the first months. Everything changes a lot and getting used to it is a difficult process. Enjoy your pregnancy ❤

aww sissel!!! you are such a breath of fresh air! in the way you honour our human bodies as wise and whole and sharing these opinions is so important and valuable 💛and also in a culture where motherhood and children are increasingly being portrayed as 'inconveniences', you are showing how wonderful and pure it is! 'For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb...Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. My husband is also Korean, I’m from Austria and we live in Austria. We recently had a daughter and called her Juna (유나) 🥰 The name is not that common yet for German natives but it’s a beautiful name in my opinion and works well in both countries. Other names we liked but didn’t make it were Emma, Sarah, Lilly or (H)Anna Sending you lots of love from Europe and all the best for your pregnancy journey ❤

Like having skin contact after birth, natural birth (if possible) and going with your intuition. ❤ sending lots of love to your little family from Germany❤ I kind of think it will be a little boy.😊 How has your family and friends reacted to the pregnancy news? Its so surreal hearing you talk about pregnacy, motherhood etc, I still remember you introducing Jake to us🤭😍 Again, huge congratulations💚💞 Absolutely love your approach on this new chapter in your life! I myself live in germany and will likely give birth here (as for now, who knows what the future holds), and hearing about the huge cultural differences about pregnacy, birth etc is so interesting🧐😲 I wish you all the best and that your birth experience will be a good one! Also love the way you guys want the child to teach his mother tongues! (am I the only one who doesn't like the word?) I grew up biligual and had a way easier time learing new languages, may it be in school or privatly, than my class mates, though its not always a criteria, a lot of my biligual friends also had the opposite experience... Personally I think its a boy, you glow so much, and if we go after the old tales, than a boy makes the mother even more beautiful, but who am I to say that? All pregnant women glow so much during their pregnancy!🥰
