I just found out not long ago, I am pregnant too. I've really been so excited for you throughout your journey. I am almost 10 weeks. Watching your videos makes me feel really excited for my pregnancy, I truly hope that you have a smooth birth and, your baby is healthy, happy and, strong! This will be my second child and, I'm just "over the moon" ^_^ I am excited to meet the little guy. I think it would be super cool to see you make mom videos about Japanese culture and anime of course, I raised my first watching anime. I hope the rest of your pregnancy, delivery and recovery go smoothly! I remember feeling so huge and the pregnancy brain was no joke. I even had trouble doing my job and concentrating pretty much the whole time lol. I was pregnant in 2020 during the midst of C19 and was sad that I couldn’t go out and enjoy my pregnancy. I’m happy you got to go out and enjoy it!

I love that Joie are in Japan - they're one of the biggest brands over here but are super safe, we have an Every Stage car seat for my daughter and it's excellent! Very excited for the next chapter of your life, it's so insane but so amazing at the same time!

Do people do baby showers in Japan? I know some countries give gifts after a baby is born, but usually clothes and not baby gear.

Japan doesn't do baby showers but just as you said, they often do gifts after the baby is born, it's usually baby gear or money but it's much more conservative than US baby shower gifts

I also find it interesting that you can find car seats in a thrift store in Japan! In the US (at least where I live) thrift stores won't even accept them. (Because they are deemed unsafe if they've ever been in a collision, and a donated one they wouldn't know if it had or had not been). I always love hearing about the differences between things in different countries!

16:50 omg I've been the passenger in a van scaling some mountains in Jamaica where the roads were SO thin, everyone was speeding up and down, there were absolutely no barriers and the cliffs were super sheer 😵‍💫 I'm not a huge fan of roads like this haha

The kind of stroller I got was one where it's just the wheels and the infant car seat locks onto. I got it as a space saver. It is kind of wild that infant car seats aren't required. That would make me nervous as well.

My wife and I are FINALLY heading back to Sapporo next week for 3 weeks to visit her family. It’s been 4 years since we’ve been able to go. Covid put us way behind schedule for doing this trip! I am so excited to get back to an onsen! Also, FOOT MASSAGES!!! So much more affordable and effective in Japan! Here in Vancouver BC foot massages aren’t covered by benefits as it’s classified as non-registered-massage-therapist treatment even if a registered massage therapist is performing it. It’s like $45+ and never much options for how much time you want, so price stays high. In Japan it’s like $20 minimum and you have many options for how much time you want them to work on you. SO EXCITED! 😎✌🏻🍻 P.S. CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THE ADORABLENESS OF MINI-YOU! 🥰

I wonder if the car seat thing has to do with difference in how common cars are in the US and also how Common accidents are. I'm guessing it would be hard to expect ppl to have a car seat in Japan when many ppl dont even have cars and are maybe only calling a taxi/car sevice/friend o family's car to get home from the hospital?
