very suspicious , if you think just drowned because of the masks, something doesnt add up. Strange that the brother and his girlfriend who survived swam to the shore and didnt wonder where their brother was, And then said they were praying for them. Why didnt they try to swim after them or look for them ? Did they get scared and why didnt they call lifeguards themselves. Why was a bystander the one calling the firefighters instead of his brother. And then the brothers girlfriend said in the interview " They drowned but they didnt drown" I dont know I dont know. Sounds very strange, nothing specific about the situation or that they saw them swimming . Why did they separate if they were swimming together ? None of those questions were answered...

They could have swam into an undertow. The bottom gets pretty deep pretty fast. Also, that part of Maui is relatively remote. (First responders are miles away.)
