I feel like this should be vocalized more bc so many people at my grown age believe that just because they use a contraceptive that they 100% cannot get pregnant. As far as I know, there is no contraceptive thats 100% effective so any time you decide to have sex there is a risk of pregnancy. Whether it be 1%, or 10%, it is still a risk and one to be conscious of.

Well, there is one (not abstinence), and it's a hysterectomy or a double orchidectomy. Total tube removals are supposed to be 100%, but there is some impossibly rare cases of it happening, so it isn't.
@yukiochan111 ай бұрын
@AccidentallyOnPurpose literally csme to say this. But i don't think hysterectomy is dive a sny form of 'permanent birth control' think that's more considered tubal ligation. It's still 100% effective against pregnancy but don't think any dr would do it at any age unless there were OTHER mefical necessities.
@AccidentallyOnPurpose11 ай бұрын
@@yukiochan1 I'm confused on what you are trying to say. Tubal ligation is not permanent birth control, it is reversible and has a failure rate like any other method. It is one of the most effective least invasive (outside of removing tissue) birth control there is, but 1 in 100-200 people will get pregnant after tubal ligation. It also increases your chances of having a nonviable ectopic pregnancy. Not knocking tubal ligation because it really is effective and a good option, but it is not 100%.
@yukiochan111 ай бұрын
@AccidentallyOnPurpose it is considered 'permanent' in the same way vasectomy are. Alsob it really depends on the type. Not sure what's regularly used today but at one point it was just clamped, like a bad of chips. The clamp could move/ come off leading to higher rates if failure. They then started tieing, cutting and cortorising. Like you said, that method is still not 100 percent fool proof and stands a chance at reversal if desired, tubals and vasectomy have a much higher success rate than others. And though you can try for reversal in both, that comes with complications and isn't a quarenteed success for future, naturally conceived pregnancy. Ivf could of course still be an option because you can still make eggs and have a uterus bit even if you reversed it the scar tissue coyote block the natural process. That's why it's viewed as 'permanent' with such a low rate of failure and not a particularly high rate of successful reversals once they moved to cutting and burning, drs tell you not to consider it other than permanent. It's not like the pill where you just stop takingb it and things go back to normal. Like you said only 100%, absolutely fool proof way is removal of the uterus or both ovaries in woman or completely removing the testes in men.
@oleanderhawthorne51011 ай бұрын
@@AccidentallyOnPurposepeople have actually gotten pregnant without the pregnancy ever being inside of the uterus, but it's incredibly rare. I think the most well known case involved a stab wound and some funky anatomy? But yeah a fetus can attach to the outside of the intestines or really any organ, it's just usually when this happens it's aborted and not really talked about. Still incredibly rare, just not 100% chance of no pregnancy.

My doctor gaslighted me when I question if it might be due to the pill. I also had insomnia. Upon going off them, my blood work shows my vitamins are back to healthy levels and I sleep like a baby now

@Username046710 ай бұрын
Every medication has potential side effects. Quite possible your vitamin deficiency isn't directly caused by the pill. I'd guess you have an unknown condition that the pill exaggerated.
@natk110510 ай бұрын
I've never heard of that being a side effect, and it seems quite unlikely, but who knows. Reminder though, eating organic food does not protect you from vitamin deficiency. Only eating the *right* foods will do that. It really depends which vitamins you were deficient in, and whether you were truly eating enough of those specific foods (organic or not) to get the recommended amount. Some vitamins are not even purely from food, like vitamin D.
@lemonz176910 ай бұрын
What 5 vitamins is your doctor testing for? Vitamin D and B12 are the only routinely tested for with broad clinical relevance.

Inform yourself, ask questions...the more you know/understand the more likely you are to use it correctly and limit/largely remove your risk of pregnancy. ❤

Is prolonged way of taking the pills when you take them continuously without breaks for periods is safer in terms of preventing pregnancy? Are there any studies about that?
@sammichstudios879312 күн бұрын
i believe there are studies showing that on the “off” week of the monthly version the pill still has the same efficacy as when you’re taking the active pills, and the same is true about the continuous version. same effectiveness, just up to personal preference on which type (combination or progestin-only) and whether you get your period once a month or once every three months. i should also mentions that depending on which formulation of the combination type you use, your side effects may be different and it may take some trial and error to find what works best for you. i hope this helps!
