Preliminary Winter Forecast 2024-2025 | #2

David, I have been prepping for Fall/Winter. I pick up my ice melt and rock salt on Saturday. As you know I am in the Cleveland Ohio area. I have had a gut feeling I am in for a lot of snow, lake effect that is heavy snow. As well as colder temps. I feel I will get snow before Halloween. I am stocking up to hunker down. We had very high temps early this year and a great amount of humidity. Water vapor in the clouds, when it gets cold it will fall as snow. Thanks for your update.

We always get random bad storms in fall/winter/spring when cold fronts move through central Louisiana.

I've been watching every other forecast and wondering why they're so different from historical trends for a weak La Nina. This is actually the first forecast I've seen that matched up with actual historical data.

We need the rain so bad in Central Texas. For years, the lake here has been extremely low. Burn bans are now normal. With all the people moving here, I'm starting to worry seriously about our water supply.

I agree with you dude, I feel like the Bay Area is going to be wetter then Southern California because how the jet stream changes, And we have La Niña I remember when La Niña was pushing out and El Niño came in on Jan 10th 2023 was insane in the Bay Area

I`m buying tarps to cover as many of my new fig trees as I can. We got down to zero two years in a row in Louisiana, 3 degrees the year before those, and 8 degrees last year. I wish I had just one normal year so I can get a great harvest of fruits, melons, peas and vegetables.

Are you predicting below-normal snowfall for Seattle? It sees on average 6-10 inches so it should be more like at least 8-12 inches maybe 12-16 inches and if conditions set up right it could go up to 16-24 inches of snow something that you do not see every day in Seattle so you should probably fix that issue and additionally below average temperatures and above average precipitation creates more snowfall

Google has a better explanation of the forces that contribute to these storms being produced.. but, It has a lot to do with hot air from the Sahara desert interacting with cooler humid air in forested areas and the Gulf of Guinea. These come together that create thunderstorms that tend to blow east to west towards the Caribbean. The warm waters cause these storm to build as they move west.
