I saw her live in a small theater in Clifton forge VA last month. It was riveting . She is the absolute best guitarist I’ve ever seen live, and I saw Segovia live in 1970

Err, no it's not. It was for a good while rated a Grade VIII piece on the ABRSM exams i.e. you should be able to play this to even think about applying for a Degree in Music, anywhere.

I tried to play this many many years ago when I had ambitions of being a classical guitarist. A very demanding piece of music. Bach on guitar makes huge demands on the left hand especially. I managed the prelude, and the fugue reasonably well but always struggled with the allegro; left hand fatigue just always set in. This young woman has just played the whole lot almost flawlessly in front of an audience- I counted two dropped notes and a muffled grace note during the whole of the fugue. The rest was about perfect. Tone, attack, phrasing. Absolutely magnificent guitar playing.

I've been trying to watch a solo recital by Ana for years but they are never in my area. A few years ago, she was going to play about five hours from my house. I purchased two tickets about six months in advance and was looking forward to it. Then everything was canceled due to covid. One day I hope to see her play live.

That was one of the most amazing pieces, not like my favorite but amazing Each note perfect àmount of time spent on, let ringing is... I don't need to describe what everyone can plainly see, as a guitar player, (not to your caliber; but few are!), I must say, I felt like standing in my room clapping and moved as I was there. The Allegro - wow! Commanding! The first pass was so satistying that I didn't want to hear it repeated just yet. (Does Bach's original manuscript actually call for that?) It's like instantly restarting a downhill ski run. It sounds like Ana made her own adaptation of Segovia's transcription, and mastered it!
