Prelude Won't Start? Main Relay? (Vlog #13)

What if the whole car lost all electrical power when replacing an alternator? No dome light, dash lights, ignition, nothing. Charged the battery and checked everything out and nothing electrical works at all

I have a problem with my 1990 prelude si where I cant get the car to turn on or crank no sound or lights there is some weird starter method where it's a push button start any tips to just get it to start cranking

Sup , I have a question…. So your prelude sometimes starts and sometimes it won’t ? I have that problem with my 90 prelude si … I did change the gas pump thinking that was it and it was running no issues for a while and start to do same thing….it won’t start and it starts after many tries. ..thanks you have a opinion?

Did you check the main relay like in this video? Also, maybe check your fuel filter

@@Pyman215 I will check the fuel filter because I didn’t,and same with the relay ….I was confused because sometimes it starts. But I will check them and keep updated. Thanks

I would also check the distributor when they are malfunctioning when getting hot the stator brushes and other components stop working till they cool down..

Dead relays don’t click when you turn it over , hold the relay in your hand while cranking you can feel it clicking , try plugs first , make sure it’s getting gas , listen to the hum of the fuel pump under the back seat

A faulty main relay can cause a crank no start issue even if it click and fuel pressure is OK?

Did you replace the main relay ? Did it work?

@@yasminsanchez6376 I replaced it but it still didn’t work. I then found out I had a bad distributor 😅

If you can't hear the relay click when turning key to ignition. Usually the relay is a dud.

So if i can hear the click a second or two after i turn the key, it’s most likely not the relay?
